Simply the best Escape Sim on Steam that I've found so far. The devs go above and beyond, providing free rooms years after release and even during the dev of the sequel. Top notch stuff.

What can I say? It's Half-Life 2. When released it simply blew all other FPS games out of the water. Now? It's still worth playing and holds up well, and consistently cheap too.

Tick Tock is probably one of the freshest experiences I've had with PC gaming. I played through it with a friend recently, talking to him over Skype, and it was great working together to solve puzzles based on what each other was seeing. It's short - maybe two to two-and-a-half hours gameplay if you don't get stuck, but for the money it's well worth it.

Unforgiving but (mostly) fair, THUMPER is an assault on the senses that will keep pulling you back.

Best played in the dark with headphones, excellent reflexes and patience.

Ah, Prey.

Although I'd heard good things about Prey, I hadn't looked into it too closely - at first because I didn't have a PC that would run it at release, then because I didn't want to be spoiled at all.

When I did get a new PC and snapped it up, I was very pleasantly surprised. This is not a run and gun shooter. Indeed, the first hour feels very akin to System Shock 2 - exploring a space station, very little resources to your name, and actually having to decide whether to use ammo or simply hide. I've seen a lot of comments in the Discussions about it being "too hard," and it being hard to kill enemies. That's the point! It's not Dark Souls or anything, but you do need to take your time and be cautious.

Over time you "research" your opponents and understand weaknesses, and use a combination of weapons to overcome them. You have to think about combat, and dangit if it ain't great! I encourage anyone playing to slow down and check everything - learn the story, understand more about the station you're in, and you'll have a good time.

Highly recommended - just take your time.

Ahh, OFDP. I can't begin to explain how good this game feels. It may only be mouse clicks, but gosh darnit does it feel great to line up the combos *just right*

If you love martial arts, then you'll love this.
If you love simple pick up and put down games, you'll love this.
If you love kicking butt... you'll LOVE this.
