UPDATE: After beating the game and replaying a couple levels postgame I can easily say it's perfect as far as I'm concerned. This may not be the greatest game of all time, but it is MY greatest game of all time.
This 100% is gonna be a pain in the ass tho :P
I think it still needs:
-a way to jump to specific parts in a level from the start (specifically bosses, maybe just a boss select or a boss rush mode)
-a cutscene viewer (because not all cutscenes are viewable from just replaying levels as far as i can tell)
-per-level collectible counts (because keeping track of them myself has been a total pain)

i've had a game idea incredibly close to this for years (character action game with an anime style where everything is synced to music) and seeing this just land on my lap out of nowhere must have been some kind of gift from god. i'm in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awe
i'm about 5 hours in now which is enough to get a good grasp on both the good and the bad.
the bad:
- the jump sucks ass (and by extension most of the platforming does as well)
- levels are a bit too long
- no manual saving as far as i can tell (tho checkpoints are really frequent so whatever)
- no option to adjust audio offset if your delay is little enough
the good
- ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????
- EVERYTHING ELSE
- OH my GOD
- THIS GAME WAS MADE FOR ME. DESIGNED TO APPEAL TO EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY STYLISTIC AND MECHANICAL SENSIBILITIES
- AND IT JUST ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DROPPED OUT OF THE SKY OUT OF NOWHERE ONE DAY???????
