You ever put a toothpick under your big toe and kick a wall? This game is nothing like that.

Recommend buying when it's on sale because their isn't enough at the moment. If you played Stunt Track Driver you will like this game.

The game looks and plays well. They listen to their community. The core gameplay of racing is really well done to feel like you are racing a tiny hotwheels on a track that was made to be fun and interesting. The arcade style of drifting around corners to gain boost and fly through the air feels great. Seems simple on the surface but there's a lot to master.

The campaign mode is fun at first but feels a little repetitive after awhile. The boss battles are different and exciting and I wish their were more of them. Boss battles reward you with that bosses track piece and it changes the way the tracks you make feel and the boss track pieces are cool. What campaign mode mostly gives you is coins for buying boxes, gears for upgrading cars, and developer made tracks to race. I feel the player shouldn't have to work to get new tracks and they should all be unlocked from the start so you don't get bored to quickly but I understand there are some more difficult tracks that stay locked until further into the game. Rewarding specific cars for races would be better (it does this sometimes with secret cars but I would like to see more of it).

Exceptional Track editor but it's buggy, occasionally lets you place track pieces you shouldn't be able to and then prevents you from placing more. Just remember to save regularly and it's not really a problem but is annoying. Still no way to quickly play your own tracks except by favoriting them through the time trials. The creative potential is limitless, you can have 100 tracks saved at a time. I have the most fun with the track editor and it's where I spend most of my time.

Multiplayer is the best way to get coins for new cars by sitting idle or farming community tracks. Matchmaking is really quick, never had any issues with connection. The races are voted on by everyone in the lobby with 3 of them being standard maps and 2 of them being community made. I've had the luxury of randomly having my map be selected and it was a Blast but won't happen for everyone and most of the time "drag race" style maps will be voted on instead. The community maps it pulls from need to be changed in some way. Maybe having a higher chance of being maps made by the people in the lobby.

Livery editor has limitless potential. No reward for making liveries.

Car detail is great and feels very realistic. Plastic cracks, paint chips, tires wear out, fingerprints are left on the vehicles. Serial numbers and manufacturer info can be found on the bottom of each vehicle. You have to get coins to buy boxes to get a chance at getting the car you want or you can pay up to triple the amount of coins depending on the rarity to get a car from the shop which rotates every so many real world hours. You can't see the rarity of the car you are buying in the shop and have to guess based on the coin price. You can't select multiple cars at a time to dismantle/sell and have to manually scroll to each one to remove them (I've found filtering by common and deleting them is pretty effective). There's no way to party up with friends before you start a race you just have to go into a quickmatch and invite them after before it fills up. The pacing for collecting cars is exceptionally long. Rewarding specific cars exclusively through certain gamemodes like time trail challenges or completing specific goals would be better. Adding a system for completing daily goals that reward coins would keep players invested after completing the game.

Rocket League is my favorite game of all time. Easy to understand and simple to master, Rocket League is a game that is a bargain for the price. The competitive and casual environments are a thrill. You get the occasional toxic player as with any competitive game. If you like cars and you enjoy soccer this is that game.

I personally enjoy factorio alot, it is a beautifully well crafted game with every thing you could hope for; Tanks, Trains, Cars, Aliens, Guns, Facotories, Turrets, a "Berlin Wall" of my creation. Tons of fun stuff and lots of replay-ability. A good comparison is Minecraft.
