These are two of my favorite games of all time and I am very glad they're finally freed from the PS1/Saturn.

I think it is fair to say that maybe GungHo could have done more here (like include the original SegaCD versions), but I don't think what could have been takes away with what is here. And what is here are two classic RPGs that deserve a chance to reaching a broad audience. GungHo did do a lot, maybe not everything every fan would have wanted, but the accessibility of these two games can hopefully be the first step in getting everything (or most) of what people might want.

If you love old school RPGs and 80s/90s anime you really owe it to yourself to experience these games. The depth in the gameplay may be a little lacking by modern standards, but if you enjoy the feel of old school turn based systems this is one of the best of the era. The story and charm of the characters are in a league of their own, and the music is just ear worm after ear worm. These games are classics and I'm glad they're finally being made available to a wide audience after several decades.

This game is a lot of fun if you let it play by its own rules and just get into the flow of its roguelite elements. Yes it can get really cumbersome, especially when you've figured out something but the game just won't let you actually solve it, but typically you're still making progress in other areas even if they may not be in the direction you want it to be in. There is quite a lot of depth going on in this game, and I imagine almost everyone's experience with the game will be wildly different. I appreciate that I could probably double my hours in this game and still be discovering things and puzzles, despite reaching the goal of the game already.

The first few runs of this game (in the demo) I had were probably some of the best I've ever had in a game and stayed with me for a long time, and probably will continue to stick with me.

Early Access Review
I thought I’d play this game for a bit just to get a feel and then wait for the full release, but the depth of the game in early access and how it feeds you little by little it’s hard to put down. Just for the vibes and coziness alone I don’t think I can put it down. It plays like a dream on Steam Deck, making it all but inevitable it will consume my life.

Highly recommend if it looks like something you would be in to.

It must have been a challenge to top a game like Hades, but they've definitely succeeded in that already. This isn't even it's final form!

I haven't played a whole lot on Steam yet, but I've been playing this on an off for about 4~5 years now. It's a fun little platformer with RPG elements mixed in. The platforming is fair and the RPG elements have some depth to them. The game kind of reminds me of Cave Story in the way it mixes platforming and action, which feels really good. The game can ramp up difficulty quickly, but I don't find it unfair by any means.

I haven't played this version in multiplayer, but I remember previous versions being fun playing with others.

The animation is great and fluid. The pixel art is well done and has a great consistent asethetic to it. The music is good and fits the world well.

The gameplay is very solid and well worth spending a few hours playing if the style appeals to you. What this game sets out to do is executed well. I can't wait to see what's next from Alcuria Games!
