They say BeamNG.drive is capable of just about anything, and well, they're right.

First off, what a great game this is. It's probably the best, most versatile and realistic simulator out there. Of course, it focuses on cars and driving, but people really make use of its many features, like aerodynamics (inb4 BeamNG.fly.) Its driving physics are really close to reality, and they're getting better and better with each update. What's really impressive are the crashes.

No, not game crashes. Car crashes. Although the game is still prone to crashing if you mod it incorrectly, but it still happens rarely.

Anyway, there's no predefined result for car crashes. They are all simulated in real time, and for some they're pretty much the highlight of the game. If that doesn't make you go wow, then I don't know what will.

You do need a beefy computer to run BeamNG.drive smoothly, though, as this is a very CPU-heavy game. Well, each vehicle is a simulated softbody that is ideally recomputed 2000 times a second, so what gives?

The game is getting more awesome every update, and it's updated quite frequently. And it's still weird to think that with all its features, modes and complexity, it's only in alpha. I'm very excited for the final release, and I dare say I have very high expectations.

In conclusion: if you ever wanted to wreck a car realistically, or drive around with realistic physics, or just fool around in various environments, this is the game for you. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who enjoys freeroam and tomfoolery.
