Adequate gameplay, free to play and some decent fun with friends. Cheap man's battlefield as you'd expect but it needs polishing. Personally have not experienced bugs and issues except for a singular crash. Vehicles are decently balanced with a bit of coordination and most of the usuable strikes (point-streaks) are within what can be considered balanced. 


Gunplay is pretty good although it takes a bit to get used to (at least for me). You have plenty of mobility options with peeking, lying on your back, crouch slides and tactical sprints which is nice too. Infantry having various levels of armor to pick from is a nice feature that I do like.


Trying the game out now that it's free on here is recommended. For a free to play it will suffice just fine, especially if you have no previous experiences with this game. You go in with zero investment and worst case scenario you don't enjoy it and you uninstall it with no losses.

Biggest downsides are the terrible launcher with atrocious download time and lack of character customization that's put behind a shop. Game currency doesn't have much of a use at the moment of writing this review. As someone who supported it when it came out back in 2018 with actual money, that has gone basically unrewarded with 3 bad looking skins and a few "exclusive" weapon and vehicle configs.


I was fully aware that the support back then was a gamble but with this little of a pay-off it's almost criminal, they give you 100 of the premium currency but even the cheapest character skin costs 200. Most of the content that was available freely for character customization back then has been paywalled in a rotating shop and camouflages available has been severely cut to a mere handfew instead of the list they had back then. 


In the years since 2018 and now it seems most dev time was put to paywalling all the cosmetic content, stabilizing the game and making it run a bit better because new content (besides maps) seems nonexistent. Which makes me question what the devs have been doing all this time and what their actual focus is for the game.

They added a backpack-attachment swap feature so you can change attachments and things in your kit in the field (á la battlefield 2042), but I have not once found myself in a situation where I have used it which makes it feel like a completely redundant function.

Still runs like garbage, ingame recommended settings are a lie.

Still as good when I first played it in 2003, just an incredibly fun RTS to play vs friends.

good game great 10/10 would play again
