A timeless classic, and one of the best ways to experience Final Fantasy IV. While the textures intended for the Nintendo DS can be offputting to some, I find them charming, and the voice acting still holds up to this day. This was one of the first FF games to feature a deep plot and memorable characters, and in my opinion is one of the best places to start if you're interested in the franchise. Mainly because it was also my first when I played it on the DS.

I will say though, do look up a guide for augmenting, It's not immediately obvious which augments are useful and which are meant to be discarded on non-permanent party members. And you can mess up your entire playthrough by giving Cecil something stupid like auto-potion, or missing out on Omnicasting from Fusoya which, when put on Rosa makes her into one of the most valuable party members for the endgame. That was a mishap I ran into when I played on the DS as a child. I do plan on going back and 100%ing this game. No matter how long that may take.
