Is Tekken 8 fun? Yes, in the same way that previous entries were. Is Tekken 8 worth the over $100 that the devs are clearly asking for in a single year? No, don't be stupid.

No matter what, wait for a sale. This game will be here, no matter what. But BaNamco is a company that asks for $100 for one years content and then asks for more money past that for cheaply made stages. Your dollar/pound/yen/Euro/whatever, no matter how it is earned (and I know your struggle, it is earned) is worth more than they deserve. Even if you don't buy it, they think they are privileged enough to ask for it. Do not negotiate with terrorists, do not negotiate your money with companies. This is my first, and last time buying a BaNamco game at regular price.

Remember: This is a company that celebrated millions of copies of Tekken 7 being sold by making more bundles for you to spend your money on, rather than making any content free. They will never accept any amount of money as being enough, greed must be killed by us as consumers. Do not make the mistake I made, and wait for a *deep* discount.

Extremely easy, little variety, and endless dialogue that takes forever to explain a vapid and almost nonexistent story.

I don't even know who this game was made for, but underdog stories don't work if the game also wants to be a power trip while calls you an amazing warrior as it gives you tedious busy work jobs for every other character.

Love the base game and think, it's worth full price. The sword in the DLC is cool, bordering on OP if you play on hard or so (not certain about higher difficulties yet), which I'm happy with as it's either a cool challenge for vets or a power trip for people who have already put a bunch of time into the game.

The new missions contain some really cool arena's, but lack the unique supernatural elements that gave most of the base games maps a sick action-horror hybrid that is so loved in the base game and it's primary inspiration: the first F.E.A.R.

I don't hate that I bought this at full price as the game is so good that I want to see more from the devs, but otherwise I don't think $10 CAD is very good value. Especially with how annoying one of the bosses can be if you don't vibe with it on any level. I'm sure it's great combat sim content but I was hoping for some spooks to go along with the otherwise great combat system. I also *think* it may be possible to soft-lock yourself with one of the missions if you don't have much ammo as the sword cannot damage the objective that you have to break in order to progress, though it may be possible that I missed something with that final encounter. Either way the lack of synergy between the new levels and the titular weapon is... not great, to put it moderately.

Jacob died at the end of the main game and this is an hour and a half long dream sequence for an insulting $20. There, I spoiled it. Even at free this would have been a terrible value.

It's like someone had a fever dream of mixing Dead Space, The Suffering and Condemned, but woke up looking at a Excel spread sheet where they accidentally put 95% of the budget towards graphics and nothing towards game play.

If you thought that mid-2000's AA budget games could get repetitive you haven't seen anything yet.

Worth every penny that I paid for it, and no more. (game is free.)

Imagine being a massive multi billion dollar company and being unable to release or patch a game such that it actually launches.

Not mechanically deep, and the ending has some issues, but these come across as just budgetary issues as every other moment of the game feels like a genuine labour of love.

Frequent crashes, very poor performance, strange visual glitches that I've never seen in any other game. If this is the state after 8 months of polishing I'd hate to play what they submitted when they said it was 'gold'.

Wait until they make a few patches at the least.
