This has quickly become one of my favourite games on the Quest 2 via Virtual Desktop. It's not a game to spend countless hours in as its physically intensive but its the sort of thing that takes the advantages of VR and bottles them up into a fun jump-in-and-play-daily package.

Loading up own MP3s is the icing on the cake, listening to own songs gives that extra boost to the play. May just be me but there is a slight lag when changing song, weird as the PC is pretty beefy with SSDs, but it's worth pushing through to play this!

The warning to keep the hand strap on is not a joke, it encourages hitting the ball as hard as possible, and i have slipped grip of the controller a few times so definitely recommended.

10/10 game, wouldn't change a thing other than that slight skip on track change which likely wont happen when using the ingame music.

The only game that makes me physically move out of my seat, and smash my desk when i'm matchmaked to a 6-1 down match with 1 minute left, with all team-mates nope-ing out playing against season champions. Chaos (4v4) gamemode is pretty much all I play, but its one i return to time and time again and mostly enjoy. Don't really care about the epic integration, the core game is still there.

Really enjoying playing the game, love the physics, a nice chill game to play with the AI, or a one-on-one with folks around the internet. Even the amateur AI can be hard to beat as it's a very quick mover and the minigames can get ridiculous in a good way.

I had a gripe with the notifications of challenges from other players as they'll continuously ping you via a sound that can't be turned off until you action it, and oh boy it's loud and will go all game, but the developer has responded with directions to completely be offline on multiplayer in the comments (big thanks for that).

Caveat to that is that I'll no longer get requests from friends who want to play without going back and turning the setting on. Really there should be a "Notification volume control" that can mute it so that they do show up but don't impact the game in progress.

I previously said this was try only and not recommended, and while I recommend it now, there are some small tweaks that would make this go from a really good game to a badass game.

I have a love/hate relationship with this game.

Love the server creation ability
Hate the unoptimization
Love the mods available
Hate the sheer size of the files
Love the sheer size of the worlds
Hate the huge time investment to make the very basics
Love the multiplayer aspect with tribes
Hate the way the creatures move

Recommend, but don't stay with stock Ark. Mods can make this game a blast to play. One of the few true open world games worth investing time into.
