I haven't played automata in a while and i came whole-heartedly here for the whole older game style and slower pace. It's not Automata part 2, its an older game that is strung together by lore and similar playstyle but is still its own, seperate, distinct game.

It's slower pace. I can't emphasize it enough. Compared to automata, from what i remember, in this game, you can't teleport, you run everywhere, you have a canal (actually kind of huge) but overall it takes a while going from place to place (but a pretty small map, to be quite honest). But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ does it feel rather fun. It may be monotonous, sure, but that's literally only if you wanna go full completionist. Follow the main story, get adjusted to the gameplay, and don't think of this as the next nier automata. It's Replicant, it has its own intersting and quite awesome characters to get absorbed into. Stop having automata expectations, start getting into the petty squabbles of weiss, kaine, emil, and Nier. Oh yea, the guy here is ACTUALLY NAMED NIER CANONICALLY. soooo....

Solid 9/10. I got this on a 50% sale btw so look out for that price drop! may lower your buyer's remorse if you realize you cant handle slow and relaxing games

If you want to be slightly lost and yet disgusted by the end of the game, play it through. If you're a fan of guro like me, prepare the tissues and lotion
