Pretty fun to just sit and idle, I love grinding skills so this is up my alley.

If you've ever wanted to accidentally kill yourself by electrocution because you were standing in water and your wand shoots lightning then this is the game for you.

Early Access Review
Tower Unite, or what I like to call, a game in which you grind for that cash to make some awesome creations.

Tower Unite started out as a mod for Garry's Mod in which you played minigames for in-game credits that you could spend on furniture, upgrades, cosmetics, etc. Around the 2016 mark MacDGuy(lead developer and founder of PixelTail Games) and the rest of the dev team wanted more from their mod. Tower Unite was born.

Tower Unite is ran in the unreal engine and runs like a beast. I recommend a slightly beefy computer because this game likes to eat FPS like it's breakfast. Tower Unite consists of multiple minigames either hosted on their own or in "Plaza" servers. These plazas are home to a casino, bowling, laser tag, trivia, random events, and most importantly the shops. All the minigames have good maps, good mechanics, and outright are just fun. After playing this game since launch I can say I've had my fair share of fun times in these minigames. Sitting in the casino playing Wheel of Money watching the 400k credit jackpot climb and climb hoping I'll get it.

The shops. These are the best part of this game. To start off you're given a modestly sized condo in which you can decorate it however you like, and I do mean however. From furniture that you can buy in the stores to canvases you can put any image on. TVs that play YouTube videos to custom workshop models that other players have made. You can make your dream home, or resort, or underwater base, or highrise, anything you want.

Recently I've taken on the task of creating a welcoming space for all players in my condo, which is the resort map. Once the community condos update comes out this place will be a spot for people to hang out with each other and chill.

That's what this game is about. It's about making friends, meeting awesome people, having fun, and making what you want. I've met some really awesome people in this game, even someone who lives within 20 minutes of me. Without this game that would've never happened.

A summary? Sure, this game has it's ups and downs. First release they forgot to ship the entire game so that was a funny moment on launch day stream. The load times are crazy long on hard drives and only slightly better on SSDs. FPS goes up and down just as fast as the rollercoaster in game. Even with all the lacking of optimizations and bugs this game is still worth it. I give it a full recommendation for anyone. At the current price point, $14.99 it's a steal.

Let me start off with this, this game is really nice. I've been playing nonstop for the past few hours now and it's a really smooth playing game. There is a little learning curve(bankrupted my first kingdom) but once you get used to it, it's not hard.

I'll start with my first impressions. There is a tutorial that I'm guessing helps you through it(I skipped it and learned by mistake). The game starts off kinda tedious because you only have a few quick quests you can do at the start and you just cycle through all 5 until you get a few more. You luckily don't have to remember what works best for each quest because it has a history feature which shows what goes with what. The art style reminds me of tycoon type games back in the 90s and early 2000s. The UI is nice and easy to understand with tooltips telling you what each button does. I noticed a few typos but nothing a hotfix can't remedy.

After a few hours the game starts to pick up because you can now start what are called Epic Quests. Epic Quests are quests that take 2 or more heroes to start. These quests allow you to get more supplies and quick quests as well as other valuable items like weapons and armor. You don't need to do epic quests just to get more quick quests once you unlock the library(I think kingdom level 3) you can research all types of things from lower maintenance costs for your buildings to more followers per settlement.

Don't get me started on modding this game. It's one of the easiest games to mod. First off everything is shown in pretty much plain text(XML) and they have a whole page of the site to help with modding the game. Let's say you want to mod the UI to have a few different textures(I completely changed the color of the UI to green, which you can get on the workshop) all you have to do is go into the UI.png spritesheet change the text you want and next time you load the game it's changed. I recommend making the mod in a folder in the mods folder to make disabling and enabling them easier. Adding quests and heroes is also very easy by just adding a new line to the heroes.xml.

Pros:
- Easy to use interface
- Modding support
- Self-explanatory UI and functions
- 90s and early 2000s tycoon nostalgia look and feel

Cons:
- Few bugs
- Little grindy

Rating:
9.5/10

Edit: The customer support is amazing. The new update(1.0.6) broke my save but the dev is already pushing out a fix for it and it's only been like an hour. Not only that but he also helped me through any help I needed for modding.
