Started using Steam because my father wanted to play Terraria with family, including me. My username and first profile were made by him, which I treasure greatly. First pfp was the red castle crasher, a character I was fond of and played a lot on xbox.

Deep Rock Galactic, #1
Incredible game with love from it's developers and game play mechanics that I'm a total sucker for. None of the updates released to the game were bad, all of them were mostly great and some decent, which is incredible. There's some amazing mods, not to mention in-built modding with the game, albeit an odd system... The sheer customization potential from the simple options and overclocks mixed with multiple weapons to choose from in a loadout, ON TOP OF the 4 different classes and the unique grenades/utilities, is simply engrossing to play and experiment with. While not much variety in it's biomes and terrain gen past even ~300 hours, it doesn't really need to be grand. The biomes and their terrain generation is absolutely perfect for what the game does, and is only the stage in which the actual gameplay and missions are taking place. One of my favorite parts about that stage is that it's customizable. I've come to love driller for it's unique cobbled weapons, and it's aptitude for manipulating the playing field around you. The variety in creatures is expansive and also limited. There's only a select handfull of factions/species, while within those parent groups, the variety under them is vast, with it offering many many different things to learn and active obstacles to get used to interacting with even during a chaotic swarm. A lot of the fighting does end up being, especially modded, quantity as opposed to quality, meaning you're chewing through an enormous amount of bugs without too much thought. Despite that, every bug that you'd normally otherwise chew through, given the right conditions, will force you to change your strategy and play around them, they are still a hazard on their own. The community is great for the game, the quality of life and general silly fun factors are extremely enjoyable. If you don't mind a little repetition in your gameplay loop this is a game that if you enjoy what it does, you can easily sink an exuberant amount of time into.
Monster Hunter: World (Iceborne), #2
For the first 5 hours, I was getting my teeth kicked in, holding on by a thread, and feeling awful because of how unused to I was to the heavy movement and commitment attacking needed. This wasn't Deep Rock, or other such things. You are the prey, the hunted, forced to overcome and become the hunter. The next 15 hours I started to love the game, then the next 150 went by and I am obsessed. Such complexity, such incredible monsters, and the joy of dancing with them. A beautiful exchange of blows, a graceful acrobatics created by your own skill to avoid theirs, and counterattack. The surmounting knowledge of tell signs the game uses to warn you of certain attacks. Even new monsters can be danced with on your first sighting. The careful planning of builds and skills, working with the weapon you decide to choose to become your tool to weave and write these ballads. Hands down the best combat I've ever experienced, only took my 150 hours to get my grips and find the weapon I love. Insect glaive gave my fave!
Abiotic Factor, #3
A recent game as of the time of writing this, still in early access. Completely blew the expectations I had of it going in out of the water, and got me addicted by an unhealthy amount for quite a while. I always loved Half Life's Black Mesa facility, and this perfectly captures that environment in a really well done survival element, making every room you enter potentially valuable to base in, or dismantle for resources.

Even though I don't have too much time on it comparatively to some other games, the sheer quality and enjoyment the game has is immense. The balancing, overall design and theme, mechanics, and gameplay flow is all clearly carefully and meticulously crafted into an extremely well-built game. It is oddly captivating. It is a cream of the crop game, proper respect to the developers.
Garry's Mod, #5
A game gifted to me by my dad as one of my first steam games. Fond memories of making random things, playing on zombie survival servers, and exploring steam workshop. Later on I would actually learn how to build nice things like cars using ACF, and have fun posing, or just running from nextbots and such. Many possibilities due to the expansiveness of the workshop.
