An exceptional visual novel brimming with beauty. Every single aspect of it is fantastic.

Let's start with the visuals. Most CGs are animated and shockingly gorgeous. I'm not kidding, the first time I booted the game I simply couldn't believe what I was seeing. They're unlike anything I've seen in other visual novels, and there's a surprising amount of them. The game is densely packed with stunning artwork. It's a level of production that I wouldn't expect even from a big name company. If I had to nitpick something, regular animations seem to bug out sometimes and the lip sync could match better, but they're minor things.

Although I don't think I'm qualified to speak directly to some of the specific issues depicted in the story, I think the game handles very complicated subject matter with an incredibly high degree of sensitivity, especially when it comes to presenting and respecting the agency of the characters involved in those issues. The growth the characters go through is easy to understand, believable, relatable and at the same time monumental.

Thankfully, the drama is punctuated with appropriately timed jokes in unexpected moments. The sense of humor is on point, never undermining other aspects of the narrative. This is where I have to give a shoutout to Iwami Manaka for her impeccable delivery, because it's thanks to her that these moments shine. Everyone in the main cast delivered great performances.

I love Fatal Twelve and because of that, I had very high expectations of UsoNatsu. I can confidently say that it managed to blow them out of the water. This game has solidified LYCORIS as one of my favorite developers and I'll be watching them closely and looking forward to whatever they do next.
