Why the ♥♥♥♥ do I own this game? Why? I hate roaches. This game makes me physically uncomfortable to play.

You can tell they really tried when making this game by the art alone.

It's Katamari Damacy, but slightly less weird. SLIGHTLY. Also, the controls are easier to understand, as a side effect of having to be made for keyboard and mouse controls.

It's fun, get it.

This is honestly one of the best videogame stories I've ever experienced. Yes, there's reading, SO much reading. That said, it's masterfully written and helps suck you right into the story and its setting.

The combat was the only real flaw, IMO, but it's not bad enough that I didn't finish this game, which is saying something, considering how few games I own that I've actually completed.

If you like D&D and want something
unique, just get this already.

Early Access Review
I like Beat Hazard. This is more Beat Hazard. I see no reason not to play it.

Got this from Humble Choice and it sounded like a fun time. Joke's on me, I have to look at the keyboard to type. I imagine this being a good co-op game in my case, with someone moving the character while I type. I made it through the tutorial, at least, and the game was pretty fun, even if I can't play worth a damn on my own.

This game's a lot like Ace Combat in terms of gameplay, meaning that fans of more in-depth simulators will find a lot lacking here. For the rest of us, you get to fly aircraft and blow ♥♥♥♥ up. There's even mods to add more aircraft and custom missions. I've played through this game with an X-Wing, a mech from Mobile Suit Gundam, and a pig with rockets strapped to it. I think it's safe to say that I think this game is fun.

I got this game for a dollar, and that's all you should ever pay for it.

This game is very obviously unfinished. The first cutscene feels like they cut something out, and it makes everything feel disjointed. I felt this way for several other parts of the game as well, especially this one part in a jungle where you open a door, a cutscene where you obtain a new ability happens, and then your character spends a minute using it on some enemies that appear.

The worst part of that cutscene? It's shown through still diaramas, and nothing but. Then you get to try it out for about 30 seconds before you get ANOTHER series of diaramas where your character goes to the next part of the game. It felt like I just skipped an entire section that a more complete game would have allowed me to get through on my own, and it was at this point that I promptly uninstalled Marlow Briggs from my computer.

I enjoyed the cheesy dialogue, and that Chinese guy who's the villain is cartoonishly evil, but I can't let myself sit through a game that feels less complete than some Early Access titles that I've played.

Early Access Review
It's a Megaman X rougelite. It plays largely like Megaman X but the levels are randomly generated, and you can find items that will give you stat boosts (more health/energy, faster run speed, etc) or otherwise alter your abilities. You can play as Nina, who plays like X and uses an arm cannon, or Ace, who uses a sword like Zero.

The developers are receptive to community feedback and have been regularly updating the game since I purchased it back in 2016, when this game was still in Early Access. Since then, they have added a couple of new features, such as the ability to co-op with a friend, which I have not tested yet.

If you're a fan of the Megaman franchise and want to try something a little different, then I recommend 20XX.

Before I begin, I should let you know that this game includes a manual (check the link on the store page or in your library) AND YOU SHOULD READ IT THROUGHLY.

If you're itching for a challenge that harkens back to the NES days (down to the manual actually being helpful), this game might be what you're looking for. La-Mulana is a game that will truly test you. There are many puzzles in the ruins of La-Mulana, and you'll get a real sense of what it's like being Indiana Jones dealing with some of the more obscure ones. Much like a Metroidvania game, you'll end up running into areas which you can only access once you've acquired certain abilities or items. However, this game is a lot harder than your usual Metroidvania, and can sometimes feel poorly designed. For example, I had to actually restart my game from the beginning twice because I missed a couple of very important items early on and ended up unable to exit (partially due to my tendancy to have 1 save file for 1 playthrough). Fortunately I was only a couple of hours in, but it's still really frustrating to have that happen.

TL;DR: This has a manual, READ IT.
