If you liked Risk of Rain 1, you'll love this refresh of RoR 1 too.
It takes Risk of Rain 1, adds some elements of Risk of Rain 2 and gives the game more challenges.

Fun game for the whole family. This game has the same ease of controls, gameplay and vibes as a Nintendo party game

Great game for the price. Get it on sale and get more value!
Controller recommended for high-rank play, but it can be played with a keyboard and mouse.
Best played with friends. Decent Rocket League community.

There are just so many possibilities with Risk of Rain. I continue to discover fun builds and create new challenges the more I play this game. If you play multiplayer, perhaps limit to 2 or 3 players as it can get a bit out of hand.
I highly recommend this game for anyone who enjoys platformer/2D games (I also have a lot of hours in Terraria).
The game scales well, allowing you to have a casual/easy time or choose the hardest mode and enable artifacts that limit your ability to source items and use abilities.

After about 2 hours:
Great game, gets boring just digging for caverns, but once you find them it is cool. Well worth the money.

After 200+ hours:
I cannot believe the amount of hours you can play this game for the $2.49 it cost me in the Steam Summer Sale. The newest update added many more hours of gameplay. Once you start playing multiplayer, many more hours accumulate. There are a lot of entities in the game, and it is very difficult to keep track to them at first. Use the wiki available to find out about any part of the game, you'll find that the huge amount of weapons, blocks, mobs and boss challenges mean that the game can be played for hours on end, without crafting the same weapon or fighting a same boss twice.
