Early Access Review
Repetitive, tedious, poorly optimised, underwhelming weapons, thousands of bugs at haz 1, and no flexibility in terms of how you play each mission. The gameplay does not live up to the high standards set by the visuals and branding.

Boring, repetitive, not voice acted at all - just sound effects re-used everywhere. As for the "reward" scenes, the idle animations are good, but the interaction mechanics are janky, and most importantly for a game with this name, it doesn't even have climax animations. I wasted an hour of my life.

Don't let the name fool you - this game is expertly written, lovingly crafted, complex, puzzling, and it goes so much deeper than I had first anticipated. The combination of RPG elements and visual novel mechanics is new to me and I'd say it works really well at keeping my attention. You can probably tell from my hour count that I had a hard time putting it down! Love you so hard SadPanda!

The characters, the style, the music and the cutscenes are really charming and cool.

Unfortunately, this isn't enough to make up for the repetitive and sadistic gameplay.
I stuck it out until Chapter 4, where some of the puzzles require intense split-second techniques like the Hyper Dash, and some puzzles have no areas of respite.

If I'm sitting here with 500 deaths; the game is not giving me any hints; I'm just wondering how much more of the chapter is left; that's not fun.

Props to the team for including assist mode so that I could see the end of Chapter 4, but I'm not about to use that for the rest of the game.

This used to be my favourite game of all time, but it has been neglected for far too long and is no longer even playable on official servers.

Portal 2 is an action-packed puzzle game involving testing, killing, saving, betraying, fighting and more testing. It's a more story-rich game than its predecessor and it builds an incredibly interesting vivid world. The cosmetic items for the co-op mode may have never taken off properly as I've sure Valve intended, but co-op was a really fun additional campaign too. Oh, and the game also includes a level builder that I've enjoyed using. It turns out thinking about test chambers backwards (i.e. building them) is quite an art... Anyway, this game just offers so much, I highly recommend it.
