Still worth it for the Vanilla Class stories.

Predictable and kind of infuriating. The characters are all one/two-dimensional and the writing is really juvenile (“see those new guys? They are hot!” Sorry, I’m busy solving a murder). I managed to have fun by playing a normal, friendly but "by the rules, no-nonsense when it came to the job" cop but it’s obvious what type of character the author wants you to play. Some of the skill choices don't make sense, some of the narrative choices are really juvenile (the sorft of stuff I would expect from teenage characters). Why would my character join the police if they want to do a science-related job? Why this small town has a dedicated pathology lab? Why is everyone described as "looking like a model"? Why can't my character talk to Tina about other stuff that isn't "boys *giggles*"? I know the answers (I've read way too much YA).

I liked my romance of choice (N - the nice one) because I'm a sucker for men who act gentle and as socially adjusted adults, the romance was sweet, ended up enjoying it... but as a game, especially as an IF I can't really vouch for this unless you get it for free or at a discount.

I can't wait for ACT 2 and 3.

Fun game, although the original main quest is really slow at the beginning. Would have more play time if not for the steam overlay glitch.

I can’t really recommend the game at full price. The plot is basically Harry Potter lite, which isn’t that bad itself, but what makes or breaks a dating game for me are the love interests. I found all of them to be either too immature for me to enjoy (Donald, who granted can be really sweet and is the only one I consider "canon") or just plain awful (Damien, the Snape stand-in). It’s not even fun, since the magic system while interesting is underutilized. At least my character can make smart decisions during the routes (telling Damien what amounts to “go ♥♥♥♥ your self, and leave me alone" was satisfying) which is uncommon for your run of the mill otome games

I played this way before it came to Steam. 10/10 Would play just to date Rhett over and over again. He's totally my type. Now, THAT'S how you write a "Jerk wtih a heart of gold" (He really ISN'T a jerk at all).

The art could really use some polishing, but keep in mind this is really old art, so the characters don't really look like in the trading cards, sadly.

(Excuse me, I need to go and play Rhett's route again)

Not worth it, especially if you're paying full price.
The game is short and really repetitive. The dateable characters are paper-thin and the main character has no personality outside of "being a girl". The game focuses more on raising your stats than on actually interacting with the characters and building the relationships.

At least the main theme song is easy on the ears.
