I absolutely LOVE Blender and I recommend it to anybody starting out in animation or game design.

However, the ui can start off REALLY confusing since there are so many functions blender lets you do. Thankfully, there are tutorials all over the internet that will teach you basics as well as improve your methods of modeling, lighting and so-forth.

Since Blender is free, it's the perfect program to start modeling with. And once you know everything, it opens up a whole world of possibilities that will be sure to help you in any of your projects.
