Dev did a complete 180 with the latest (and final) update. What was a part of the game's identity has now been removed (choices, romance, most of the comedy elements). The store page has been updated to reflect it, but you can still use the wayback machine to see what it was like before. While the dev says it was always his intended vision for the game, he should've either went straight for it, instead of doing this dance around with the previous 2 chapters and then pulling the rug, or leave it for his next game after finishing this one. This also means that most (if not all) of the previous reviews are now invalid, since the game is different from what it used to be.

Dev also seems unable to accept any sort of criticism or opinions from others, that he doesn't agree with, and is responding with snarky replies.

He also used some slurs (n-word, f-word) to describe his own fanbase who enjoyed the game but didn't like this new direction.

While it wasn't life-changing for me like it was for other people, I consider it to be the most well-written game of this year (and maybe even the past few years tbh), at least from the ones that I've played so far. If you like visual novels or story heavy games, then give this one a shot.

A really charming and fun game. If you like action and rhythm games then it's a must play.

There are already tons of criticism online and lists of missing and dumbed down features that were in previous games, so I won't bother typing that all out. Only buy the game now if you want to to throw away your money and make DICE/EA richer.
