Early Access Review
Writing this review at 56 hours. For a game that costs like 15 bucks, that's well worth the price of admission imo. Especially as I'm looking forward to a lot more hours, with a lot more content coming down the pipeline.

Graphics - Nothing that compares to Crisis, but that's not the point, the comic style serves it well
Audio - 's pretty solid, guns and planes all sound distinct enough
Gameplay - Easy to pick up, with a slight learning curve til you figure out all of the toolkits
Community - So far, so good. Some bad actors can be expected (this is a - mostly - online game), but most of them are chill
Customization - Okay so far, hopefully more in the future
Microtransactions - There are none

What can I say, really. It's a puzzle game with cute demon girls (who are all horrible), but the humour and art was right up my alley. Definitely am going to get the DLC, since the game itself was for free and I *really* want to actually pay for it. It's ridiculous. Also I want pancakes. And more art.

For a review in english, please look further down in this review.

In English / Auf Englisch:

It doesn't happen often that I'm writing a review to a game. Usually, my laziness is to blame for that. But Subnautica is too beautiful, and too captivating, for me to be lazy. More people should play it.

Being a lone survivor and crashing on an ocean planet sounds like a somewhat trite SciFi Survival Game, but usually those games rarely have the same depth (excuse the pun) as Subnautica. Just being face to face with a Leviathan for the first time is already fascinating in and on itself, but the other things the story has to offer... is just breathtaking. Do yourselves a favour and play this game til the end. And do it blind, because the story is something you should experience for yourselves....

Now listen here cupcake, don't let the low playtime fool you. I've been playing Wildstar from the very beginning, and even got myself a Realm First (I am the realm first master chef on Jabbit), so bear with me. Wildstar is a great game, with great potential, superb gameplay and a pretty awesome playerbase. That said, you will need to put in at least a little bit of effort. The learning curve is a bit steeper than WoW's (or some other MMOs, WoW just happens to be one of the easiest to learn), but still flatter than EVE Onlines. Take an interrupt or stun, watch your targets and don't stand in red, and you'll do absolutely fine, most of the time. You don't need to put any money into the game, since the walk from lvl 1 to 50 is a breeze, even without enhancers, and you can't buy equipment. What you can buy are costumes, mounts, pets, enhancers (if you really want to), upgrades to your character limit, yadda yadda. All of these things can be bought for either OmniBits (which you earn ingame) or Protobucks (which you buy with real money). I would recommend grabbing signature status, though, which gives you a boost for gaining OmniBits and unlocks a few other goodies. And by the end of the 30 days signature, you probably have enough ingame currency to buy a CREDD and grab another 30 days signature.

So, give it a go, bring a few friends (because everything is better with friends), and have some adventures on Nexus. And don't feed the rowsdower... okay, but only a little bit.

Oh, yes. God yes. For everyone who doesn't know, Freespace 2, released in 1999, was one of the masterpieces of Volition. Sadly, it suffered from terrible marketing and, as a result, didn't get sold as much as it should have been, making a continueation of the series not worth the effort - and money.
For all those who loved Wing Commander, X-Wing and - really - any other Space Sim, I say: Grab it now.
It may be old, the graphics may be outdated, but the gameplay is as solid as a subspace tunnel.
And, well... if you like shiny new graphics, the modding community over at hard-light.net will serve most of your needs, with graphic updates, epic campaigns and even total conversions, like Wing Commander Saga and The Babylon Project.

So, again: GRAB IT.
