10/10 would cry to again

I expected to LOVE this game because it hit all the sweet spots for me.

Female leads? Check.
Largely story based? Check.
School dormitory setting? Check.
Diverse cast of characters? Check.
Beautiful and unique art style? Check.
Tough issues like depression and disabilities? Check.
Really cool and interesting game mechanics? Check.
Relatable and (for the most part) realistic characters? Check.
Non-hetero relationships? In my case I got my Pricefield, so, check!
Dialogue choices and decisions? Check, check, check!

But there was something lacking. In theory, I should have loved this game but I can only just "really, really, really like it." I don't even have any big gripes with the game (my only gripe is with the lip syncing). Maybe it was the hype that got to me near the end. And don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the endings (then again, I was also unfazed by the ending of Mass Effect 3) but something about the game overall prevented it from being THE game.

However, Life is Strange is definitely worthy of all the praise it's getting. I think this is one of the best games I've played.
