It has been a long time since I got so much into a game and I can easily give it a 9/10. I just finished the main story, soon will be checking the extras and am already hoping Season 2 comes soon



TL;DR Version
  • Do not compare this game to XCOM reboot;
  • Nice, pleasing art and design choices;
  • Customizable difficulty options to suit your style;
  • Awesome devs;
  • Irene;
  • A straightforward plot meant to be fun but with a backlore that may be confusing;
  • Gave me nostalgia of my times, as a kid, testing builds in Final Fantasy Tactics; the customisable mastery system is really fun
  • Do not compare it to XCOM reboot just because it have a similar grid system. Comparing it with Shadowrun is closer in genre and tone, and comparing it to FFT is closer on customisation;
  • Be scared of Ray's smile.



Wall of Text
If I'm to point the main strength of the game in my opinion is the customisable difficulty. I am playing the game on hard + challenge mode (there's an option kind of hard to see that automatically turns challenge mode on for every mission), with 4 difficulty tweaks that I found interesting (for example, one that enables bonding traits on enemies and another one that limits your character level). Because I play RPGs of this kind since I was a kid (I still remember experimenting with builds in Final Fantasy Tactics and Vanguard Bandits), Hard+Challenge sits in a very comfortable position for me. Your mileage may vary, it can feel harder or easier depending on your playstyle. I really recommend enabling the option to limit the character level while you're trying to find the best difficulty setting for you; the last thing you want while trying to figure out how hard you want the game to be is to get overleveled by accident.

Speaking of comparisons, yes. Do not compare this game with XCOM reboot just because it have the 2 action grid system. The two games that comes to my mind is Final Fantasy Tactics and Shadowrun. Do NOT compare it to XCOM reboot.

The story is straightforward, meant to be fun - not complex. There's enough for you to wonder what's going on but not too much to get in the way of the gameplay. The Wall District is full of troubles, go shoot it!
I'll be honest tho, I got lost in the lore. I'm not a native English speaker and the game is originally written in Korean, so there's two language barriers here. Of course, I can just join discussions in the community, but I felt like it lacked a "summary" or "codex" for you to reference.

I have to praise the character design and background, and the artwork accompanying it. It may be just my own impression based on my own bubble, since I'm not familiar with Korean art, but there's an uniqueness on it that pleases me; Special mention to the loading screens and the story panels.



Overall, I really loved this game and I'm about to jump in to the extras. I hope Season 2 comes soon and that the profits are enough for it to be a longrunning franchise.

Choices don't REALLY matter in this game. All your choices just add some flavor, but the game only have two endings. No matter what you do, you'll have only two possible endings. For a game that is focused on choice and consequence, this is a dissapointment.
