Motivational downvote for taking so long to finish.

As a Death Rally continuation? Never. Please don't.
No ladder whatsoever, no feeling of competition, next to no character portraits, guns changed for worse, difficulty of the race doesn't matter and doesn't change almost anything, dumb story, no immersion at all, cartoonish vibe, hud is almost completely gone, there is no black market or a loanshark (only limited pop-up missions).
One would expect 2D Carmageddon. This game could be named "Rally" and still be bad.

As a standalone game? Annoying.
Strange steering, automatic gun that doesn't really work, strange "agony" state when enemy HP bar goes to 0, boxes with supplies that are problematic to open, only few enemies have pictures (that also follow them during the race).

Gonna finish it out of curiosity, but then it's gone for me. Going back to the OG Death Rally.

The game is short, ugly, and has next to no features. Pure nostalgia. Games like this were something fresh back in the days. It is something worth giving a try out of curiosity.

This game is a golden cup filled with piss.

For the price You are getting beautiful uniforms of multiple armies with all the different roles to play!
Line infantry, Specialized infantry, Officers, Cavalry, Artillery, Engineering corps, Medics, Sharpshooters - many to choose from. Ah, forgot about Flagbearers and Musicians!
You get many maps with different gamemodes - Battlefields, Sieges, Capture The Flag, Sea fights.

There is just one, very big inconvinience - people.
You will see people playing this like any other f******e, c*d, or any other ♥♥♥♥ games where it does not matter what You do if you run into enemies and shoot at them.
This game does not work this way.
Reloading Your musket takes time, so You gotta make it count.
Then You have to cooperate with every other soldier on the battlefield, because there is savage strength in numbers.
You gotta communicate both ways - with other linemen, your officer, engineers, artillery, cavalry and others. And sometimes Your life is not the most important - which is the biggest obstacle to understand the game to people who play this.

On the servers You will find:
84% Lone wolves, who will roleplay commie army and try to run into enemy positions like NPCs
14% Ego boosting regiments who are even worse, because they come in bunches and abuse the game with their numbers
2% Normal people who play this game as supposed, giving you a time of your life.

It means that 98% of the time You will get frustrated because someone is taking Your cannon away or just blocking it and hoping You will walk away; because Cavalry are just some random noobs going for easy kills as linemen can't aim and they get farmed for free when they reload; because artillery is shooting at single soldiers when your position is getting decimated by concentrated artillery; because officers set 5 secondary spawn points next to each other, surrounded all sides, creating a clusterf**k; because a group of 12 enemy soldiers was ignored and set spawnpoint/stole a cannon behind Your back; because a group of regiment-mates are bullying You with chat spam and griefing - You dared to play a class they wanted.

Still worth it if You bring few friends, so You can actually do Your stuff without minding others being bots and brats.

Finally, I have an excuse to wear the uniform and sing Erika lout with mein Freunden.

Amazing how large and well done the game is.
Campaign menu bloated with WWII based missions, where you can play both sides.
Infinite potential for multiplayer.
Great controls, working beautifully when either running, driving or piloting.
Support equipment and classes available.
Running around to find ammo should become an Olympic Sport.

Well, can't not add this to steam for almost free! Finally.

A little less vibe compared to (in my opinion a series-defining) Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now, yet still enjoyable racing game filled with destruction, gore, and dumb sense of humour.

I guess the technical performance isn't a top-shelf, but it runs low settings even on a laptop to an acceptable extent. I expected more from a 2016 production.

Career mode with few events to choose from, few maps, and handful of old and new enemies.
Apart from (comparing to Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now) different game engine and a little bit different feel, with kind of different sense of humour the game is solid good.
Vehicles happen to oversteer, AI happens to focus on (effectively) disturbing you from whatever you are doing, the balance happens to be off. Still worth it's price at a big discount.

If I was to play this as the first game of all the Carmageddon series, I would still fall for it, but not that deep.
It's like with Postals or GTA - 2nd game is an undisputed gem, even with all the upgrades in the newer games.

Ah yes, the Brytenwalda (free mod) lazily made into a DLC (paid addon) and then turned into Bannerlord (expensive game) that does not offer any significant upgrades. Me like.

Edit: Odin, forgive me. I can play this game only drunk, because I'm a viking history enthusiast.
Tha addon is made as lazy as possible. They made a lot of identical cities, towns, villages. It is all the same. 3 prefabs at most. I've made more myself.
Even the paving in the Cities is GREEN. AI made, or what?
After spending days on rebuilding locations and meshes it is playable.
I fell asleep in Jorivk and woke up in Bosvenegh somehow. A long raid it was, and a fun one.

The game does not shutdown properly, adding background process time as playtime, making me unable to return it.
It doesn't offer enough for it's full price, and the dev attitude I discovered after buying it doesn't paint a good picture of the game's future. Make no mistake of mine, wait until 80% discount, or stay away - it is enjoyable to some extent, but not worth it, added functions feel unfinished or really basic, with no great development perspectives.

Edit: After some complaining and proving devs are lying about this not being their fault - the game process bug was fixed.
Still, I couldn't return the game because I left my computer on for too long, with game process running.

Can't afford a PC for Space Marine. Gotta pray to one of the guys :c
