This is an amazing game, especially given that it is free. It is a simplified but expanded American Football management sim with enough variables to make every game interesting and every game exciting. The DLC is a steal even at full price.

I recommend checking out the league being hosted on the Electrosports channel on YouTube to a full human-managed league with an excellent commentator streaming matches. https://www.youtube.com/@electrosports

Early Access Review
With the most recent update to add circular and diagonal walls, we got so many extra tools I didn't know I needed until I tried them. Extra assets are great, object brushes, expanded biomes, the list goes on.

I use the AI to populate maps most of the time, but the basic map building functionality is good enough to put the software at the top of my list of mapping tools even without it. I can't imagine how things will improve in the future, but I'm looking forward to seeing whatever else comes out of early access.

100% worth the cost.

This game has been a stunning achievement since its launch. Technical problems could have ruined the move to PC, but so far it looks like an amazing port. The performance out of the box was great for me on my 3090 and I found that I had more than enough room to crank the visuals up. As soon as I was given some freedom to roam, I found myself just wandering around with a stupid grin, taking it all in. I can't recommend this game enough.

Early Access Review
I've played enough to get a general feel for the tactical portion of the game, which was the most likely portion to make or break it for me. I picked this up due to the comparisons to the Mount & Blade series, which I love for the battles. I'm happy to say that I've been enjoying them here. Though the modern combat is obviously a different beast, I'm enjoying the mix of RTS/FPS. The early units were frustrating, but I've found that the gun feel of upgraded units feels good. I can feel the difference between militia and elite units.

Next up, I'll be diving into the world campaign mode to get the full experience, but I can tell from watching a few videos that I'll enjoy what's there. I'm looking forward to future improvements, but the game was 100% worth picking up at this stage in development.

On release, I was crashing constantly. The first patch seems to have cleared that up. Performance is definitely an issue, but if you can deal with turning down the details and focus on enjoying the simulation side of things I can now recommend the game. I still don't think people who want to focus on building photorealism and highly detailed cities are going to enjoy the game as it stands. I'm hopeful about performance improvements, but reasonable mod support is almost as important to me.

After the rough first weekend, the game's server situation seems to be a bit more stable. I still think requiring a connection to play solo is a terrible choice, but it's not a deal breaker for me considering how much fun I've had with the game itself. The setting is fun, the powers are fun, the voice acting is good, the story is enough to keep me from skipping new cut scenes...all in all, I would recommend the game in its current state.

Very polished early access title. It maintains the formula from other M&B games with improved graphics. It feels like I'll be dedicating a lot of time to the game even before we see the official release.

Greedfall's strength lies in its storytelling and presentation. It's a classic Bioware style RPG set in a detailed world that did a great job capturing my attention and holding it for the entire game. I found myself postponing the main story, completing side missions and exploring, reluctantly continuing when I felt it was time to learn the rest of the story. It's an easy game to recommend.

I want to make special note of the mythology they built here. The world had a terrific sense of strangeness that I felt as I played, but the presentation made it very difficult to attribute malice to that strangeness at times while making me feel dread at others. It was all delivered in a consistent, logical manner that made it easy to fall into the narrative.

Voice acting was great, visuals were excellent, and the world design and story were excellent.

I spent a lot of time with Skyrim, playing through the story twice and tinkering with mods for far more time than I should. It's been long enough that I wasn't sure whether this new iteration would pull me in the same way, but I shouldn't be surprised that it has. I've still heavily modified the game, but pretty as it's become, I wouldn't spend this much time playing it if the core of the game wasn't amazing. If you've never played it, this is the perfect place to start. Speaking from my own experience, veterans should jump in too.

I'm surprised that the Steam system even allows for paid expansions on early access titles. Like many others here, I found this insulting.
