Fantastically written story, unique RPG mechanics allow for a good amount of replayability. Looking forward to the Final Cut coming out next month with fully voiced characters. Highly recommend for anyone who likes a good detective story with a large dose of psychological discovery and political musings. Also drugs, alchohol, and disco. My only caveat would be the movement animation is pretty clunky. It often looks pretty unnatural, and sometimes you´ll get a bit stuck going up stairs and stuff. But since you spend the majority of the game playing through dialogue options it´s a pretty slight annoyance.

(Spoilers!) Honestly, I tried to like this game. I thought the destruction effects were really well done and the voice acting was on point (as far as FPS war games are concerned). The individual map setpieces were well-done; I felt that the game over-all had a good flow to it. For me, the first problems started cropping up very quickly. Problem No.1: The AI. My goodness the A.I. is some of the worst I´ve seen in a long time. This issue has been lamented upon by many other reviewers, but it´s definitely worth mentioning here once more. Considering you are supposedly fighting U.S Soldiers, one would think a sense of self preservation would be a remote priority for people trying to "survive". Bum rushes, standing out in the open, it just looks and feels incredibly halfbaked. Considering you are a one man army (your squad providing some support with a sniper rifle and flashbangs), you mow down hundreds of Americans in... self defense? Segue to problem no. 2: The story... From the get-go I felt that this was just another COD-style story. The narrative quickly tried to do a 180 as our squad appeared to be mislead on the situation. I was intrigued to see where this all would go. So, slogging through the incredibly boring and repetitive gunplay (cover, headshot, switch cover, headshot, repeat) I was hoping to see what the hype was about. But then, a series of fake decision-making moments occured. For a game about moral, you sure are shoehorned a lot into being the "shoot first- ask questions later" mentality. The phosphorous mortar scene bugged me in particular. Touted as a choice, it turned out it wasn´t... quite disappointing. Also it just boggled my mind the amount of people we mowed through in this game, who, honestly had no reason to continue fighting us. If there was one moment where someone had just started talking sense the story would have come to a screeching halt. At least Call of Duty campaigns find reasons to be clicking heads. I think this game had a lot of potential if it wasn´t so linear. The gameplay might have been more forgivable if it the story took it´s time to develop more and let the narrative really play out. Instead, buckle up for a wild ride with dislikeable heroes, no clear directive, horrible, uncontrollable events meant to shock you, and poor cover-to-cover gunplay. At least the music gave some good vibes. You´re better off playing Gears of War for a cover shooter with an arguably more provocative story.

Fun Classic Hack n Slash RPG. Very light roleplaying choices, and virtually no customization. All Armor/Weapons are straight upgrades of the last. Enemies aren't particularly challenging but the comedic, on-the-nose storytelling and sarcastic, bantering protagonist make this a worthwhile adventure and a great vacation from more content-bloated modern RPGs.

I´m a big fan of Lovecraft stories/culture so I was very excited for this game. That being said, so far I´ve been disappointed with the overall story/level design. The sound design however is great (play with headphones). I felt that every new monster so far had a unique look and sound. Mechanically, it plays like a late 90s adventure game which definitely leaves a strong nostalgia, though nothing revolutionary. I don´t know if I personally was looking for more from this game, but I haven´t been able to really get into it yet. That being said, it is often on sale for 2 euros and for that money it´s definitely a great game for short bursts of classic arcade-y adventures loosely set in a lovecraftian-style dungeon crawler adventure.

Good Tactile Turnbased RPG. Combat is fun and intense (Though frustrates with XCOM-style ridiculous misses). I find the overall depth of gameplay to be somewhat lacking, the world relatively unpopulated. While the characters that I´ve met so far have had some interesting dialogue I feel like the scope of the world seems quite small. Since I´m coming to this game after finishing Divinity: Original Sin 1 and 2, I do miss the more engaging voiceacting over the practically voiceless Shadowrun. I feel that voices, at least for the main characters would have really fleshed out the world and added to the excellent style choices present in this game. I am unfamiliar with the source material, but I thoroughly enjoy the Cyberpunk meets DND concept. If you´re looking for a fun, turn-based combat RPG light on expansive story but full of character, I recommend this game. But if you´re looking for an immersive, interesting world with meaningful character development, then it might be best to look elsewhere. 7/10

Big improvements on the last DOS: More interactivity with party members, great looking ability effects, more streamlined HUD/Inventory system. So far, I'm enjoying the main storyline and the side quests galore are engaging and well designed. What I didn't enjoy was the separation of magic and physical armor and after 2 hours of playing, downloaded a mod to change that back. 9/10 one of my favorite CRPGs of all time.

Excellent CRPG, you can really sink into the story and character creation. Combat is challenging but fair with varied enemy types.
