A decent drive and a decent buy. Amazing on controller, even better with a wheel. No P2W BS. At the time of writing, there are some glaring issues that will be fixed down the line - or at least I have faith they will be. From the looks of things, there's very little involvement from EA, so that steaming kettle of discourse can simmer right down. While things aren't perfect, for the fans of the niche rallying genre of games, this is a pleasant surprise. If you like it, you like it. If you don't like it, you don't. No if's or but's.

This game still continues to survive and thrive. Unlike my characters...

Basically what a VR game should be all about: Hard physics, a storyline, experimentation and proper controls. If you get a hold of some VR tech, grab this game as one of the first.

Get a wheel, some pedals, a VR headset, semi-decent PC and get hammered by the competition anyway.
It keeps beating you up, but you still love it.
This game keeps growing, and it should, given the following it brings.
A professional sim racer/rally driver whose every move is precisely calculated for maximum control? You're having fun!
A complete newbie to the game that still has trouble understanding grip and power? You're STILL having fun!

insert a died out "almost like Dark Souls" joke here

Edit: Let's be honest, the selling practice is a joke too real. That's the air cleared on that matter.

Grinding for money to live the car-guy dreams...
Of course, there's other stuff to do as well.

Whether it's the will to turn your vehicles into a giant mess of meshes with complete destruction, doing track-days that tend to make you work a bit of a sweat or just casually cruise around the actually-amazing-looking-and/or-fun-looking maps, there aren't many games that can beat this in it's oddly-combined genre. If you're still feeling doubtful, at least give it a try!
It's not meant for everyone, but I guess that's the truth about most games, anyway...
EDIT: This game is still great. Especially in VR, where driving instills genuine fear.
