Reluctantly played this game first in 2022. and got to Chapter 2 and the game really didn't impress me first because, you know, it's a Super Meat Boy, the second part, and it's an AUTO-RUNNER, like are you serious now, after all these years, so I closed the game off.

While I was digesting the fact that it's an auto-runner, cause I really couldn't get used to the fact that I can't change directions when I run or jump, I played some other games, even went on a gaming hiatus, then back to playing games, then I started longing for the Meat



So I opened this game and little by little started passing one level, two, three and boom now I can't get my hands off this.

Later levels are so g-damn fun, there are so many innovative elements to it, they topped it to the brim. Game has 6 levels in every chapter and EVERY level has new platforming element with unique property and that brings a LOT of posibilities for really contrived fun levels which are in fact puzzly in nature. You have to turn on your brain to pass some of these contraptions.

Regarding the design, levels are seeded, when you press new game you won't get any two same levels.
Every level is broken down into about less than 10 chunks and there are 6000 chunks total that the devs made, so because of the unique elements of every level, every level has it's own predetermined pool of chunks that it takes from and arranges into a level, so every level has a pool of 6000 divided by total number of levels equals number of chunks predisposed for that level.

Regarding the achievements and collectibles
For fellow achievement hunters like me, for 100% you have to pass everything S rank, unlock every character and collect every pacifier but there's a catch, listen close.

To collect every pacifier you need 90 of them but there's only 30 generated in New Game, and when you pass last chapter you have an option to play New Game+ and it makes so that you begin completely from the start, with only number of pacifiers collected and characters unlocked, but all levels are locked again and it generates 30 new pacifiers to collect but DON'T DO IT YET.

Here's the catch: when you play the first New Game, every chunk has difficulty rating from 1 to 7, and first New Game generates chunks from all range of difficulty 1-7, BUT New Game+ generates ONLY difficulties 4-7, so first collect everything on your first playthrough, get all S-rank AND BEAT ALL NO DEATH RUNS!!!

I beat all DLCs, mages guild, dark brotherhood, thieves guild and then the main game.

This game is The Definitive Elder Scrolls Experience, don't miss out on this game it is really really really really really really really really really really really really raelly rlealayl elarlyl great

I played as High Elf, Mage constellation, Blade, Block, Alteration, Conjuration, Restoration, Destruction, Light Armor, and maybe something else as major skills, but I'd probably change Alteration to Illusion and Light Armor to Heavy Armor as I used Robes and Shield was buffing my Heavy Armor skill. Had a great time with Battlemage build, later when I entered Thieves Guild and that was near the end, I started chanting Invisibility and just blasted through dungeons and shi.

10/10 rpg but wouldn't play it again cause it's really really time consuming.

This game is divine, it changed me. If you're a fantasy nerd get off Reddit and play this game asap, it's like reading a very, VERY good book and instead of imagining the narrative you're actually playing it and the main quest is really awesome.

10/10

P.S. Shoutout to Michael Kirkbride for mainly writing this game, it is so immersive and really that good.

Morrowind > Skyrim, I'm not even kidding

As cool as this concept looks, you'll rage as much because there is this oddity of imposing, in any way, in terms of theoretical musical anticipation of structure, unannounced irregularities in beats that throw you off instantly, and one is enough because you're starting all over again. But, you can't wrap your balls around how to get that beat right so you get over to it again and fail miserably.

It is a dilemma of giving this a thumbs up or down, but the small price and a kind plethora of levels, inclusion of custom levels (which I won't play) and unlockables makes it likeable... would be if it was an enjoyable experience... which it is because some songs are very catchy... but so many throw off points are exhausting... but when you get ahold of it is a nice feel and makes sense in music...

Firion as White Mage with Maces/Staves
Maria as Black Mage with Bow
Guy as Warrior with Swords

With this lineup I had a very enjoyable and well paced experience at this rendition of the game.

+ Didn't have to grind and could afford to Flee battles a solid number of times.
+ Blasted through dungeons semi-prepared item and stat-wise.
+ Unlike FF1, I enjoyed having a map this time because dungeons are pretty confusing and forked.
+ Item prices are reasonable and kind of a clutch to get at beginning.
+ Cockatrice and Coeurl: I like their design because if you can be godly powerful why can't some enemies be ones that you're afraid of. I just hate ones that confuse you.
+ Auto-battle is so good, by default it would pick attack but when you pick your commands, it remembers them so you can repeat them at upcoming turns and battles
+ Music is outstanding

+/- Many enemy encounters, but enemy pack design, the possibility to double equip your party and fact that you almost every time strike first in normal turn is well examined to be a satisfying playthrough. Some enemies have large defense or are only susceptible to magic and you can choose if you want to make additional steps for dealing with them. If you do, the battle rewards you differently by making different stats grow.

- Bosses are kind of weak, if they aren't they should've been leveled to player, sometimes it felt like they are not even trying hitting back but I now remember that I had Sleep Blade equipped lol, and it doesn't show graphically that your enemy is sleeping (it's a weak sword that puts an enemy to sleep, not reliable in end-game, except for leveling your sword skill to 16, which I didn't know until the end)

I'd rather play NES version than this.
Maps in dungeons? Cut bonus content? (+50% of the game at least) No surprise monter tiles? But monsters in chests? Poke ball fiends in final dungeon? Path of Giants now two hooded npcs... ETHERS?!? FOR 150 GIL?!!!?

Hello everybody, in this episode of wtf Square we have Square thinking anyone west of Japan are f%cking pu$$ies

They killed the magic here, KILLED IT. But I don't know, it's not nearly my first time playing so I can't know how does it feel for firsts. To me this was a much easier stroll, so I recommend PSP or GBA version.

Mt Gulg was glitching too..

First I played FF III PR and I recommend it (cuz you need gut for NES version of that one), this one not much so, some things are just too convenient in it.

Maps in dungeons, I don't need to know where every chest is, why do we need collecting all of them for achievements. You go into one enclosed room in dungeon and it shows all insides of other rooms, where you need to go and all chests WTF. Which exploration game has that?!

Cut bonus content, GBA version had more than this. It had two games in one: FF1 and 2, and both of those 2 games had 50% more content in them. FF1 had 4 more ginormous and crazy confusing dungeons (similar to Void in FF5, kinda sick), one for each element, for which I would like a map of actually, and FF2 had post-game story with all dead guest characters. PSP added one more dungeon for both games.

Too much brainstorming happened

For maps in dungeons at least f%ckin let the player pass the dungeon first and then let him buy a map from desert caravan. There's your brainstorm.

Pretty darn good port if you ask me, just google how to fix font it's real quick.
Japanese did good, even before you know you see some grumpy fellows are talking bull about the game and that just means they care.
