Early Access Review
In the Early Access description, it says ''And we are very proud of the result !''
I wouldn't call this a result just yet.

The game I think feels really nice and fresh. I'm a big FPS fan and have never played from a ''bodycam'' perspective before. And it looks really good too. The effects on the screen really add to the already great UE5 graphics, which does make this game look photo realistic. And the animations, including those when you die, as well as the blood effect spattering everywhere and the general atmosphere (including the flashlights that stay active after people fall dead to the ground) really add to that. I often find myself recoiling, panicking (and running), and leaning with my head IRL which I never do in other games, only in airsoft. The gun sounds sound amazing (and LOUD, you can adjust that ingame) as well as really just sounds in general, like the wind that sound very camera-y. Also the guns look good; especially when you unlock skins ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). So I'm having a blast playing the game.

But as much as I think this game is unique and fun, there are some points I didn't quite like.
- It has quite a steep price tag compared to other early access indie projects. I'm not arguing if it's worth it or not, but I doubt this'll help with the project's longevity. 'Boundary' comes to mind. It's a good thing there are player servers, but still it could use (official) dedicated servers, so games won't abruptly end mid-game. As long as the lobby doesn't freeze during the loading (plane) sequence..
- The drones... Man. I don't know what to think of them. At first I hated them, but I guess it adds another layer. I wouldn't mind them screwing off though, because they really support ghosting, and the sound is annoying. I guess quicker rounds are the intended result? I just find them annoying.. But then again, I hate the 'R6S' drones too while I realise their usefulness. BUT THEN AGAIN, those are pre- and in-game. They can't be fully operated after the player dies, let alone in three directions. Good thing their hitboxes are MASSIVE.
- The forest map is a bit of a maze. What direction am I supposed to go to? Some indicators would be nice. I know you guys want raw ''footage'' gameplay, but still, some digital limited instructions could help. Or something like what 'RoN' has, where you can check the map on some device, and see how many players are left on both teams.
- Some core mechanics are janky. The spawns in deathmatch are atrocious. I keep getting spawnkilled. I see enemies literally spawn a meter in front of me. How could I not shoot them? Still I feel bad. (Others clearly don't, because I keep getting killed 1ms after I spawn in some places... Impressive reaction time, ngl.) Also teamkilling (and team balancing for that matter) is an issue. It's realistic, I speak from experience, but the devs should do something about this. Maybe do what 'Insurgency' does.
- The way the text shows in the main menu UI physically hurts my eyes. It adds to the authentic experience of (motion) sickness. The whole UI in general is a bit meh.

I just wonder, if an existing game releases a mode from a bodycam perspective, will this game still be relevant? It might need some more content, which I'm sure it'll get as it has a decent roadmap, but above all: its own identity. Keep the content coming, and keep it real. There are of course the inevitable early access bugs, nothing game-breaking from my end just yet, but these need to be addressed. Oh, and ALT-F4 crashes my game, apparently.

Other than these issues, the major thing that concerns me however is the fact many of these maps and effects are assets. I don't have issues with using assets in games, because as long as they're fun to play, who cares? But considering this game is made (or rather put together?) by two young Frenchies, I am very curious to see if they're going to see the entire development including bugfixes, new content, and improvements through, or if they're even capable of getting all that done in the first place, considering the amount of assets and low amount of actual content in the game right now. Is this a scam, a $30 cashgrab freeriding on Unrecord's hype, or will this game end up as the banger it at first glance appears as? Only time will tell.

TLDR: this game is fun, but needs a lot more time in the oven. I have fun playing it, and I'm sure others can too, so just take this as a warning and a serious CTA to the devs. You guys got an amazing game on your hands. I'm a sucker for indie shooters, so we'll see what happens!

The Night Ops update improved the game a lot. If you like open world tactical shooters, if you have a good PC and if the game stability Gods are in your favour, you should have a great time!

The PSN thing really blows, but that's not the fault of the devs. And the sheer amount of beautiful freedom, democracy and liberty in this game FORCES me to recommend it.

The OG SWBF2 was my first shooter ever. So to see it in this state just hurts.
You even had AI to do the upscaling for you, yet THIS is what you bring? Ouch!

This is genuinely (one of) the best looking, chaotic and most fun shooters I've played in a long while, and it's free. Shut up and take my money!
