Dark Souls III is a game long awaited for, and had the privilege to be part of an already legendary franchise of revolutionary games, but it definitely added more glory to its now trilogy.
You enter a vast and mysterious world, with innumerous and exotic regions with escalating difficulty, Dark Souls has a well deserved reputation of being a hard game and Dark Souls III is no exception, but alongside the difficulty, hardships and sometimes suffering, there is also tales of heroism, great kingdoms and knights in noble journeys trying to find purpose and something to fight for in a bleak, dark world. and the feeling of achieving something, especially after large amounts of time, the joy and ecstasy of glory that ascends with some deserving pomp and circumstance, it is like church for the irreligious man.
The game offers an intricate universe, which the game offers information through NPCs, Items, Inscriptions and Bosses, but it leaves part of it shrouded in mystery and up for speculation. with certain eras and time periods with their own stories. which just adds more beauty and uniqueness to the game.
To conclude, Dark Souls III is a masterpiece, its really a game that makes you reflect on how much you accomplished, each step, each obstacle bypassed along the way, with both the unbroken resolve and determination of not only your character, but yourself. and at the end of it all, when the final weapon is acquired, when the last ring is found, when the last line of dialogue is exhausted and the last boss is slayed, you may realize how little you know about... everything, and even if you are the styled master of the world. you wont have anyone to love, and no place to call your own.

If you are looking for a detailed review about how the game works, this is not what you are looking for. Trapped in a cold wasteland located in Northern Canada, your objective is the classic one, survive, your main opponent is not zombies, deadly robots nor other players, but nature itself.
But apart from the hostile wildlife and temperature, the game revolves around the atmospheric and slow-paced gameplay, with the realistic audio and a wonderful art it really can make you forget that you are constantly fighting for your life. The game also emphasizes loneliness, it serves only singleplayer which you could argue affects the fun and kills the ability to play with your friends, but the thing is, the game tries to promote a feeling of isolation and loneliness in a rather rare aspect, which just increases the beauty of its uniqueness, and the frozen bodies you find also serves as a gloomy reminder that you are alone and vulnerable.
The game also has a niche for exploration, it offers you minimal resources to locate yourself or to describe its numerous regions, which are full of variety and ranges in difficulty and style. as the time passes you are inclined to explore different regions for specific purposes, with a very special crafting system, your artificial supplies scavenged from the old world in a different era are finite, it forces you to adapt with the new order of survival and trade cards with the devil, because despite being your main opponent, Nature has resources and your only chance for long term survival.
A simple game, with extraordinary traits and methods that redefines the common survival genre.
The jewel in Hinterland's crown and a certified masterpiece, The Long Dark
