This is my first time writing a negative review on Steam. I love This War of Mine, but the Season Pass appears to be a scam. The initial Season Pass comes with the story "A Father's Promise" with 2 additional stories that were supposed to be released by the end of 2018. It is now October and we haven't received any additional stories since almost a year ago. The developer stated, on their facebook page, that they're still working on the next storie and have no estimated time of release for either of the two promised stories that are part of the season pass.

The story that was included with the Season Pass purchase wasn't very interesting, tbh and with no follow-up I highly recommend that you don't waste your money purchasing the Season Pass.

The base game has also become extremely unstable even when you do not use any workshop items. (Lots of random crashes).

This was a great game. On the surface it appears to be another war/apocolyptic survival game with crafting. While it does have those elements, what impressed me about this game was the story and the decision making process. You have to make some tough moral choices in the game and the game characters 'feel' the impact of those decisions. I definitely felt vested in the story and the well being of the characters.

This isn't a long game but it does have replayability and though I've only done 2 attempts (first time when I was learning, then the 2nd when I played it til the ending).. I saw some cool mods and such that would possibly entice me to do another playthrough down the road.

Highly recommend

I got this game on a Steam Sale for a couple dollars so I wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised by how entertaining this game was from beginning to end.

Things I liked:
- Great humor (not over the top but funny)
- Interesting scavenge and craft system. It wasn't overly complex but required some discovery and encouraged picking up everything just to see what you could do with it.
- Challenging encounters. Not everything was go in and steam roll with a single weapon. You had to swap out weapons (a combination of melee and ranged) and use the best mods (i.e. explosive arrows) to get the job done.
- More than one way to skin a cat. There didn't seem to be a single way to play this game. It was basically all about how you wished to accomplish a goal.
- Semi mindless hack and slash. I could put the game down and pick it back up with ease. There wasn't a whole lot of stuff that I had to remember from my last encounter. It was pretty much start it up and play.
