I almost didn't play it because of controversial and misinformative reviews. I am really glad I still gave the game a chance ~ I've been super-glued to the game, fully immersed for several days.(54 hours in 3-4 days...woops).

I love that it has all the elements of other great life sim games but makes it more user-friendly and story-rich. I feel like the game has a great blend of elements, like harvesting, mining, cooking, fishing activities, the town design elements similar to Sims 'edit town' mode and custom clothes + furniture, and it has a ton of quests and story lines like traditional RPG games.
Personally, I love that the game play is genuinely relaxing and casual (I won't be fighting anyone, I won't stress about depleted health, character passing out, stores being open only on certain time-frames, characters too busy to 'hang out' etc). I don't have to worry about any of that crap, I can just play and have so much convenience. The game also has nice online community activities like events with special items and photo challenges.

A lot of reviews complained about paid content, and other than DLCs, I honestly haven't seen any issues getting premium items without adding any real cash into the game, I get a lot of moonstone currency rewards from the gameplay and tasks that can be used to purchase premium stuff.

TLDR - Great game, if you want something you can grind, be creative in and relax with.
