its very fun. but once you put a lot of time in the little things really become big problems. On Career plus and The Forest? level is just broken. a lot of times it will generate paths that do not lead into one another, ie. a steep drop followed by a jump that will kill the player if taken without fully braking and restarting your momentum. It doesn't feel conducive to the games idea of "flow" and I hope tracks that have these problems are fixed. It's not fun to mountain bike in a video game like a grandma because you have to so you don't die from incongruent randomly generated obstacles because you're given "lives" in career mode. They at times feel unfairly taken away and the most annoying part about them is the game challenging you to play in a way that is far more dangerous to allow yourself to earn extra lives, tasks like "no braking" or "don't let go of the acceleration" are in every single level. The feel of this game is good but you wouldn't tell each track is "unique". after a while you start to see the building blocks of the permuatations of each level. whats really good here (no surprise) are the Bike Parks people actually took the time to design by hand. a good game that hangs its hat on the worst part of the game.

Decent game that draws from its influences a little too much. The Twin Peaks parrallels are pretty obvious and on the nose. Like finding "Fire Walk With Me" written on a mirror made me sigh, and i'm a big fan of Twin Peaks. The writing is decent for the most part but has it ups and downs. The music is very good and the main character is likeable. They do a good job with the whole artschool character archetypes because some of them are genuinely annoying.

If you get through this game without using any guides whatsoever you're probably mensa material or some ♥♥♥♥. This game gives little direction, sometimes this is annoying but it adds to the mystique of the island. However, maybe I was wrong to exepct this, but I thought it would be a more story driven puzzle game like The Talos Principle or something. I want to know who I am and why I'm solving all these crazy hard puzzles. What did I witness? I just wish the game wasn't so barren of any information, both the puzzles and the story. Don't buy this expecting a story that will keep you solving puzzles, and don't buy it if you don't like challenging puzzles because you'll just get frustrated. The puzzles are well done, but a lot of the time I feel like a good amount of the difficulty comes from ignorance of what I'm trying to accomplish. Sometimes the puzzles that are meant to teach you about new challenges are so small you can complete them by chance. Also, sometimes I just didn't understand a section and had to give up. The island is beautiful and designed very intelligently. I recommend it, if it's on sale.
