Also, great game

If you're a diehard Arkham/DC/Batman fan then there's no way around buying this for you and you probably already have -
But if youre like me and do not want to immerse in the cheesy story and instead expected a "sandbox open world stealth game" at the level of Dishonored or MGS I suspect you will be let down just as I was.
The majority of the tools you have are merely used for one purpose and aren't versatile, e.g. use that charged gun thingo to open closed roller shutters - thats it. You don't feel like you have freedom of choice in how you want to approach a situation and are merely reacting in ways predetermined by what the developers let you do and what all they don't.
The combat lacks a similar freedom... I just feel like me pressing one or two buttons shouldnt result in batman comboing a motherducker to sh1t. Maybe it's just not my kindof game but still. If you like Assassin's Creed games you'll probably like this one, if you expect refined third person combat like in The Witcher 3 then you will be disappointed.

Outdated Gameplay - Best Story Ever.

If you like movies like Coherence, Inception, Prestige..... buy this. It's 7-14 hours long (I managed to get 9 hours out of each of my playthroughs). It's worth even the full price just for the cheery 1910s utopian atmosphere as well as the portrayal of the brainwashing regime in a city separated from the rest of the world and the story, naturally. The game also contains a few humorous remarks about capitalism etc.

Lastly... the game contains more violence and gore than the trailer/critics make it look like.

I picked it up when it was in the BS Triple pack for 10€ and don't regret it whatsoever.

Laggy cutscenes and perhaps a few quick-time-events are my only complaints. Perfectly unpredictable and intelligent AI, a few select typical gadgets for survival, i.e. smoke bomb, distractions and more, amazing sound design and atmospheric lighting all come together to make this a great game. More often than not the horror is not based on the jumpscare/fear of the alien as a creature but the fear of the AI, the fear of dying to the preying Xenomorph before you get to the next checkpoint. If you're occasionally scared of getting nightmares/paranoia from horror games, dont you worry. The setting on a remote space station eliminates any parallels to everyday life.

TLDR Buy when its on sale for ~20€
