It's exactly as good as everyone says it is.

The MMO setting is fleshed-out to the deepest extent, with people of all kinds showing through, from the intense role-player Apollo to the casual jokester Buggy to the deeply friendly Emilie. Even the background NPCs help give life and breath to the world of, well, CrossWorlds, with their humorous conversations and the handful of interaction points where Lea can butt in and witness the players respond in kind, even netting you lore entries in some cases.

The combat flows well and strikes just as hard, landing itself mere inches from the character action genre, with its flashy flurries, powerful pulses, and cascading combos. Learning the tricks and trades to deal with each opponent you come across is half the fun in CrossCode, especially with the facts stated below...

The puzzles, condensed in the dungeons and scattered to every nook and cranny of the world map, give a texture to the game akin to the tricky platformers that are so commonplace today, spearheaded by Celeste and followed by many.

I should note that CrossCode is madly in love with its brand of puzzles, such that puzzle-esque elements are present even within several of the game's combat scenarios. If you love puzzles, you'll love CrossCode that much more.
