Started playing CS at beta in 1999. Good friend back then with Gooseman as CS developer, and started own e-sport [B0]clan which ranked #1 in Scandinavian CS ladders during 2000-2001. Also had several CS servers online and hosted most of the Scandinavian CS matches during same era on my own servers.

Yes, during those years I played against some of the best Scandinavian CS players like Potti, Heaton etc. We had regular days in the week where we did only training on positions on war maps and how to throw grenades, boosts, positions to cover and achieve fast push or pull with crossfires etc etc.

During both 2000 and 2001 I arranged a local LAN-party in Stavanger with ca 50 CS players that was special invited from the big cities of Bergen, Oslo and Stavanger. I also sponsored "afterworks" with pizza evenings etc. It was very fun, friendly. The better we got on the clanladder, the more really excellent CS players wanted to join our clan. Soon the [B0]clan turned into a clan with the best norwegian CS players. While my origins was norwegian, I actually myself lived in Sweden at this time. I had moved to Sweden summer 2000 and bought a house. I still run everything in Norway through my MPLS network connection at my home which was a 2Mbps full duplex line connected to the corporate datacenters, which had 100Mbps dark-fiber connections directly to the main international internet providers. Most other CS players at that time was running 14,4kbps dial-up modem connections, so my 2Mbps line at home gave me very low ping and latency compared with all others. :steammocking:

When I decided to quit in 2001, XeqtR from my [B0]Clan decided to join Spirit of Amiga/SoA and later he also joined Ninja in Pyjamas/NIP. He went on to play in a few major CPL events that started around winter 2001. Many of my old [B0]clan members stopped playing CS during this time due to all the wallhacks and aimbots that got spread public on filesharings. I even got to witness and try out some of these cheats, it was aweful... Flashing bodies you could see through the walls and the aimbot just shot heads straight off. The online gaming got ruined by the day, so that is why some of us that didn't quit started to play in only LAN tournaments like CPL instead.

I took a break of approx 15 years from CS, and started playing CS GO again with my kid. I'm now close to 50 years old, my eyes and sight is getting worse, and I am playing way more passive than aggressive now in comparion with before, but I still can do the important kills and win the rounds. Some of the old CS1.6 skills are still within me :)

Glad you stopped by. I hope we played together in CS2 and had a good game.

Cheers HF GG !
