optipng написан на C, работает в 1 поток, перебирает абсолютно все комбинации параметров(zlib compression levels (1-9), zlib memory levels (1-9), zlib compression strategies (0-3) итого 1080 комбинаций параметров). oxipng написан на rust, загружает все потоки и пропускает часть комбинаций параметров которые по мнению разработчика не дадут хорошего сжатия.

oxipng не понижает качество при сжатии. Сам по себе png сжимает без потерь набор псикселей с помощью того же алгоритма Deflate который используется в zip. oxipng как и ранее optipng никак не меняет сжатое содержимое а перебирает все возможные параметры сжатия Deflate и оставляет тот вариант в котором размер получается наименьшим. Само содержимое картинки остаётся попиксельно идентичным.

Мне кажется было бы хорошей идеей в Every Texture Optimized дополнительно прогнать все png через oxipng. Я прогнал с помощью команды Get-ChildItem -filter *.png -Recurse | ForEach-Object {oxipng -o max --strip safe --alpha $_.FullName} все файлы и получил уменьшение размера с 185мб до 150ти, в игре всё работает нормально.
