JOGUE COM AS VOZES EM FRANCÊS PORQUE FAZ MAIS SENTIDO, O VOICEOVER IN ENGLISH É ESTRANHÃO

BTW ESSA HISTÓRIA COMEÇA COM O TUVÃO
TUVÃO É UM BAGUETTE CABEÇA-DURA E A MINA DELE VIROU UMAS PÉTALA DE ROSA

MAS TUVÃO NÃO VAI VER A MINA DELE IR DE CHÁ REVELAÇÃO QUIETO NÃO BROTHER

DAÍ TU VAI JOGAR UM JRPG QUE PARECE PERSONA ATÉ O MOMENTO QUE NÃO PARECE PERSONA
QUE É QUANDO TU PRECISA DAR DODGE E PARRY E É DIFÍCIL PACARAI
SE VOCÊ NÃO TEM REFLEXO MELHOR IR JOGAR PERSONA MSM PORQUE É FRUSTRANTE NO COMEÇO SE VC NÃO PEGA O RITMO
[DEPOIS FICA FÁCIL SE VC INVENTAR UMA BOA BUILD MAS SÃO UMAS HORAS APANHANDO IGUAL CADELA, NÃO É UM PASSATEMPO DIVERTIDO PRA TODO MUNDO NÃO]

EU CONTINUO PQ TEM QUE VINGAR O TUVÃO E A MINA DELE QUE VIROU CHUVINHA DE CASAMENTO CAFONA

COMO DIRIAM OS EXPEDICIONARIOS "VC JÁ TÁ MORTO MESMO, É SÓ AGILIZAR TEU LADO AGORA"

Alright, I've played enough to update my review.
TL;DR: Lackluster and shallow, absolutely not worth the price. If you really love Pillars of Eternity and want very badly to be diappointed, wait for a big sale. The fact such a "meh" game costs 70 bucks is also ludicrous. If you don't care about Eora and stuff, just go play something better.

1. Optimization is GREAT. There are so many poorly optimized games coming out, so it needs to be said. It runs pretty smoothly even if you have the minimum recommended hardware.

2. Combat is fluid and fun if you know what you're doing, at first. Eventually it becomes repetitive, since you can't control your companions and the skill tree is lackluster to say the least, so probably you'll get one strategy and stick with it, rinse and repeat.

3. Companions are few and not well developed. In my first few hours I even believed the dialogue was written by AI since it was so generic. Team banter is dull, catchphrases are repetitive. Also, your companions don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about what you do or say, so their backstories essentially means nothing. Dialogue is boring and personal quests seem rushed. You can't control them, can't change their builds or wait for them to do anything cool. They are merely acessories and sometimes they will just annoy you.

I believe this game wouldn't have any companions and they were added much later, just to follow a trend of what an RPG should be or something. This is one of the main reasons I say this game needed more development time and certainly more love. A badly implemented feature is worse than just not having it.

4. There are only three classes, and none of the original flavor from the PoE series. You can theoretically mix and match between ranger/rogue, wizard and fighter - but there is no chance to be truly creative with builds since the skill trees are so poor.

5. There are plenty of background options in the beginning, but it's just for some slightly different dialogue options, that won't change anything in game. To be honest, those dialogue options most of the time don't even make NPCs react any differently. It's useless, like almost every choice in this game.

Is it good? Nah. It's... okay. Okay-ish. I finished the game and I was just happy it was over. A huge disappointment.

It's... "weird" but not in a quirky, interesting way. The characters are at the same time bland and uncomfortably "unnatural", so much so I sometimes wondered if a real person was behind the writing.

The quest system and the potion mechanics are a total waste. Selecting and making sense of the rumors could be a great puzzle and result in plenty of ramifications, but in this game it's only putting easily identifiable info in a obvious order. Also the potions aren't customizable and giving the wrong order does nothing, so mixing drinks is really boring :/

Don't be a coward and play this one with the original voices instead of english voiceovers.

[EDIT: Just installed Cozy Kitchen. Now the game is even more poorly optimized than before! yaaaay]

Just an addendum: This tool is truly poorly optimized. Say, if you want to install it in a common, medium-range laptop PC, the same you use at work or university, it will be quite atrocious. It's quite bad if you need to use some aditional software to work, or play an youtube playlist while you read. Sometimes I have to deal with Spirit City lagging my whole PC even though I have a good setup.
It also seems to have gotten worse over time. So unless you work in a "gaming PC", don't even consider it. I will keep my "thumbs up" because it's a cool tool, but they surely should optimize it further.

You know how the saying goes: "no matter how many productivity tools you have, you still have ADHD". I've tried many tools and strategies. I usually get bored with those, timers make me anxious, all that. But Spirit City did the miracle of being a good tool while also avoiding being boring as hell. You can customize your own room and your character, and just let them and their cute spirit companion hang out with you while you work.

A few suggestions for future updates:
I wish there was more animations for the spirit companions, as the cat is the only one I've experienced that has different animations for each activity. The others are incredibly cute, but they aren't as interactive :(
Also, unlocking companions is kinda too quick and too easy - I already have many of them and I dread to imagine how will I keep myself motivated when I have them all lol :( I wouldn't mind taking longer to understand the unlock conditions, something more puzzle-like or more specific.
Also I'd love to see my character doing progress over time. I mean, if they are knitting every day, it would be super cool to see a finished scarf after many (MANY) days. If they read too much, I'd love to see a book pile grow over time. Like, small, incremental additions if you repeat a certain activity for long enough. Small visible changes would be awesome to keep users motivated :)

Look. It's a good game. A challenging roguelite with many relics and modifiers. You pay for almost anything with your HP, relic upgrades are paid with a rare item, or by sacrificing other relics, or you have to sacrifice your max HP - recovering HP is not very easy and getting your max HP back takes a lot of time. It may seem that Revita wants you to be careful, but the game also rewards you for cleaning up rooms as fast as you can, so if you are not very "hardcore" it may seem kinda unfair. IMO the average Revita experience is much more difficult than Dead Cells or any other roguelite I have ever played, since average players have to rely heavily on luck to get shields or healing, and it might take a few areas until you feel your build and your relics are really going somewhere.

My advice is: play it on normal difficulty, and if you can't progress and the game starts to feel tedious, same-ish, you can't unlock new stuff or new relics and never seem to get enough materials or new secrets, just go to the accessibility settings and reduce enemy damage for a few runs. I know it goes against "gamer ethics" (and I'll probably get a few clown awards for suggesting this) but as soon as you get new possibilities and items the game goes back to being very fun. You can change it back whenever you want, as soon as you feel you are familiar with enemy patterns or feel you finally got the hang of it, with no penalty for doing so.

Also when you have many familiars or the rooms start to really get crowded, it's easy to make silly mistakes. Putting a brightly colored outline on enemies can really help.

It's deliciously absurd. Reminds me a bit of Kentucky Route Zero, but with some nice silliness, secrets and more interactivity. Finding secret dialogue and extra items feels amazing and the characters are so good.

Don't play it if you don't like puzzles or you feel stories need to "make sense". It's not a "lol so random" or "it's just symbolism bro" narrative but you do have to accept some weird lore and just go along with it.

This is the most broken game I've ever put effort into playing.
First, you have to install a few fixes through mods (there are plenty of guides in the Steam Community).
Then, despite the fact playing with a controller is much better, the game will not recognize your controller.
So you have to install community gamepad configs.
Even then, the game needs to be run as administrator or it won't work.
But then, the toolbox and inventory are very broken and you can't move items properly. So you have to run in compatibility mode (Win XP SP3) too.
And also it's a headache to run on fullscreen so I just play in windowed mode.
And, after all those tweaks, you may have to download some saved games because the game is known to have game-breaking bugs in at least two chapters.

The movement is janky, the graphics aren't very impressive for today's standards.
But.... I believe it's.... worth it?

Remember Twin Peaks? Everybody says this game is like Twin Peaks. Well, they are partially right. York could be a psychotic, socially awkward version of Cooper, cringeworthy in all his quirkyness, comparable to a high-school fanfic writer idea of an anti hero. Character reactions are stiff and weird (intentional or not, I have no idea), like Lynch's work turned up to eleven. The jankiness makes everything even more uncomfortable. It's a unusual case of "storytelling so bad it's amazing".

So, like, do you want to be weirded out? Do you believe an interesting game is worth more than a merely "good" game? Are you extremely patient? You don't mind spending some time reading modding guides? You might have found your halloween gaming experience. If you aren't sure about spending money in a broken mess, wait for a sale.

I refunded the game for a few reasons:

The art is generic, the assets look cheap and the gameplay is barely interactive at all. My first impression was that it was generic and amateurish. I played it on release so MAYBE the graphics looked better afterwards but still lacked personality.
The story is slow and superficial, hard to engage and disinteresting, and all the "depth" it tries to have is just between "ridiculously boring" and cringeworthy. As a ghost story it would be just disappointing IF it didn't treat its themes so badly. It tries to have gray morals but fails spetacularly.
And I didn't even get to the "heart" of the narrative during my gameplay time, it was just so boring I gave up - and I'm glad I did so TBH as the narrative goes downhill fast.
