What can I say that hasn't been said about this game? It's a really fun and funny brawler.
Take your time playing this - the real charm is from the RPG elements of exploring all the side quests, minigames, and bonus buffs/loot.

This game was designed to played on console/gamepad, so you will have to experiment with the control mapping if you are a KB&M player, but it's not a dealbreaker and it's easy to change any time. In terms of difficulty, I'd say this game is almost perfect, as the pace you encounter stronger enemies, earn money for upgrades/buffs, and simply the options the game gives you to overcome obstacles is really well thought out.

Really the only thing negative I can say is that the camera controls can be a bit wonky - and that the game will eventually make you really, really hungry for Asian food.

(Review of PvE experience)
This is a F2P open-world survival MMO where you fight Lovecraftian monsters. Overall it feels like a combination of a lot of games similar in genre, and while it's nothing groundbreaking so far, it's pretty easy to get into and becomes addictive. If you're thinking about giving it a go, here's some points you should consider.

PROS:
- It's not really pay-to-win: There are crates you can buy with real money to (possibly) get stuff faster in the game, but it's more for gamblers, and not critical to one's overall advancement as a player. You can get everything you should need or want just by playing the game, including cosmetic items.

- Level design: The game's main world has a decent level of design in terms of being on par with other games of this genre. Places that are meant to be fully explored are detailed and immersive, and others are more barren; it's a good mix that allows people to build bases in some interesting locations without having a crazy advantage.

- Simple gameplay: While there are some supernatural elements in this game, fantasy/magic is not the focus. You're mostly just gunning down enemies with bullets. There's no class specializations or super sweaty character optimization to focus on, but there is the aspect of collecting pets called "Deviations" that can help out with tasks or fighting. This could be a pro or a con depending on what you like in a game.

CONS:
- Server/World system: There are a lot of different servers, each one having their own discrete player population, and within the server there are 10 "Worlds". Any character you create (and thusly your entire game experience using that character) is bound to the server. You cannot move characters between servers. You can switch between the Worlds any time, but only see other players within each world. With such low player density, the game feels pretty empty for an "MMO" experience, at least at the time this review was written.

- Overly complicated: While core gameplay like fighting and crafting is pretty simple, you inexplicably have to use different full-screen menu systems for certain things with your game progression, each with their own tabs and sub-menus - a real mind-boggler for new players. Also, understanding the different currencies, conversions, and how to spend them feels really unnecessary - There should be just two forms of currency: Premium, and in-game. But no, there's 4 different currencies! Not to mention, they tie into the upgrade systems which already use their own points and resources! I'm sure part of this is to make sure the game doesn't become pay-to-win, but it feels really disjointed.

NEUTRAL:
- Server wipes: This has been a largely discussed topic since the game's release, and it appears the Dev's are still working on exactly what happens with each update/server wipe. You can look into this yourself, but it is a bit confusing to understand without already invested time into the game. All I can say is there is a significant amount of progress that you carry on with a character through a Wipe, and it really boils down to just gathering raw resources to craft new gear, and re-level your character.

- Building mechanics: Building on your Territory uses a fairly large scale, generic, grid based system exactly the same as every other survival game. There's nothing significantly unique or better about it, but it works well and doesn't result in much frustration. Decoration items are hard to come by, and are part of advancing in the looting/crafting aspect of the game, so your base is going to look pretty utilitarian most of the time. There is potential to make some pretty detailed, cool or cozy looking structures, but will take you a while and isn't the main focus of building in this game.

Overall, there is a lot of potential here, and I think it's a great start into a very popular (perhaps fatigued) genre of gaming. There's nothing deceptive about how it's being marketed. I praise the developers for making an actual game and not a cash grab, and I hope they continue to develop the content and features as the player base grows!

This is a fun little game, and since it's free how can you complain? It's a coin that has two sides - 1) Is a very casual cooking sim. You basically can't fail any minigame task, but 2) It has some JRPG elements that are not obvious the first time you play it. There's a little sweet little twist to it right when it starts to get monotonous.

Really no complaints - you can kill a few hours with this and the only possible downside is you might get really hungry for a double cheeseburger and medium fries.

This game is almost like Far Cry in Sweden, but all the enemies are robots and you can have 3 co-op partners. So it's really fun open world action/survival, and strikes a great balance among all the elements of a "looter-shooter."

It's enjoyable just exploring the Scandinavian wilderness, small towns and houses, and cold-war bunkers - the developers created a pretty refined aesthetic with the map design and original assets.

The game is not stingy with resources, and while the looting and crafting system may feel complicated for somebody who just wants to run and gun, it's not too much of a hassle to deal with. If you don't like looting, you can craft whatever you want. If you don't like crafting, you can just keep on looting!

The enemy design/difficulty/AI is the weakness of the game. There's only three difficulties, and the main difference between them feels like how much of a bullet sponge enemies will be, not how smart they behave. The enemies are really dumb and they just have a lot of armor.

There's some different items at your disposal to engage combat in a "smarter" fashion, and setting up good cover to take positions and working with your teammates feels realistic and effective - but usually any fight boils down to just shooting everything with a lot of bullets, over and over. But still, there's a lot to explore, and lots of different weapons, upgrades, and skill trees for your characters.

Overall this is a really good game if you're looking for a co-op shooter.

The graphic fidelity in this game is amazing. It takes great artistic direction to produce the scenes, details, and effects in every frame's composition. There is really nowhere you can look in this game without being immersed in the environment.

Regarding the plot and setting - it picks up right where the last game left off: Expanding upon the alternate history of the U.S. after Nazi takeover, and the Blazkowicz backstory, but it can be more sentimental and melodramatic than one might expect for a Wolfenstein game.

My main complaint is that the sense of exploration and adventure can feel stifled - most of the setting in early parts of the game is just a big submarine with a lot of recycled scenery. Eventually you'll explore some instanced stages of the outside world. There's not a lot of alternate routes, secrets, or much clever about these level designs - just follow the main objectives, and grab all the collectibles along the way. Ironically, previous games (like The Old Blood) felt less claustrophobic, and more expansive on the Wolfenstein universe.

Also, the stealth aspect feels pointless because levels just aren't set up for it. Sooner rather than later, something will arbitrarily trigger a confrontation with heavies, and it's just as effective to clear a level by setting up camp in a cheap position to gun down all the foot soldiers and officers as they charge toward you, rather than trying to sneak around without being noticed. Stealth doesn't seem to give you much advantage, no matter the difficulty level.

Other than those two negatives - this game is amazing! You can shoot enemies' heads clean off their bodies. You can roast them into smoke particles while listening to their screams of terror. You can chop your Dad's arms off after they fail to provide you a satisfying answer to your own existential quandary. Overall I give it 5/5 stars.

I really wanted to like this game... Conceptually, it's everything I've been waiting for. Nobody has made a truly good Exploration+Survival+Driving genre mashup... and unfortunately, that is still the case here. I can't find myself to play this game anymore without getting bored. It hurts to say this, but it feels tedious. And lonely.

In all fairness, a negative recommendation is a bit harsh because: 1) I haven't played through the entire game yet, and 2) There's no glaring technical issues or deceptive marketing practices, in my opinion. The main issue is it feels very overpriced and over-hyped for what it is.

The game shrouds itself in a sense of mystery, and its strongest feature is the atmosphere. But the gameplay is repetitive and shallow. Drive here, grab this, craft that, slowly make upgrades while managing resources and dodging obstacles - Then, rinse and repeat. With no co-op aspects (I only mention that because that WOULD make the game worth the asking price), and rough optimization/graphics, it's not sustainably entertaining in the long run.

So in summary, don't expect anything at all more than LITERALLY what you see in the gameplay trailers, and try it out as much as you can before the Steam refund period ends. You can tell if you're going to enjoy everything this game has to offer or not within the first hour or so.

This is a great game to jump into and kill some time in a very zen, flow-state kind of way, if that's your thing. It strikes a nice balance between hardcore simulation and something a little more accessible and casual for most players. The ability to save and load at any time is a great feature, the trucks handle as one would expect, and the scenery is wonderful to watch.

One thing to note, which may be either a positive or a negative for some players, is that the game world is not a 1:1 recreation - it's much smaller around 1:20. You won't be able to visit every highway, byway, and backroad that exists IRL in the US. But overall that's probably good for the "casual" aspect of the game, and the world does feel just big enough to test one's endurance capabilities and route planning on longer journeys.

ALSO NOTE: At the time this review was written, the Base Game only comes with access to three states - California, Nevada, and Arizona. See the list of DLC for other States you can unlock for additional cost, and even then, only states west of the Mississippi. Kind of disappointing if you were hoping to drive coast-to-coast, which you cannot do at this point in development.

Having been a fan of the original Lego Star Wars games, I was really excited for this. But it's plauged by some real low-down, fun-killing dev laziness in the realm of PC support/controls: KB&M support is so weak it's almost unplayable. No customizing even some of the most basic controls. Have no fun contorting you fingers around as you struggle to perform even the most basic combat actions in awkward, uncustomizable setups. And then also have no fun trying to play co-op. There is no actual co-op in this game: You need to use the Steam remote play (i.e. no point in your friends buying the game to begin with), AND you need to have two different controllers to access the actual split-screen mode. So in other words this is console port garbage in the most laziest way, and they give you no warning. Should be removed from the Steam platform.

Players looking for a "casual" adventure game, or something like a retro point-and-click adventure game with more contemporary graphics *might* enjoy this. You might also find it... boring and stupid. But overall it's worth playing at least once. Let me explain:

The art direction, and design intent is good - nothing spectacular or original. There are a lot of different half-scripted, half-rando generated scenarios to encounter on your *multiple* journeys as an anonymous hitch-hiking "teen" on your way to go... somewhere. So that means there's actually a lot of variety in what you experience, regardless of the outcomes of your actions. Because you're here for the ride...

The game mixes up the monotony of dialogue trees with some pretty random and fun quick-time events and instanced 1st person levels, which consist of: Item hunting, Puzzle solving, Driving recklessly, Shooting goons with a nail gun, Pumping gas, various Arcade minigames like air hockey and pong where you can hustle NPC's, or just rampaging through a trailer park with a baseball bat smashing everything in sight! You get the idea... there's a variety of stuff here to do, and once in a while it might result in some different outcome down the line, or your death, if you're stupid enough.

But it doesn't really matter, because you don't have that much far to explore in each scenario, and you're going to be back on "the rails" sooner or later; so your efforts to go above and beyond with resource management, or analytical decision making never feel like they have any significant impact.

Besides that, my main criticism is: The writing. It's just bland, predictable, and tropey - you're playing through a generic young adult fiction novel. The interest of the game is following the story, which is told solely through the narrative of the NPCs you encounter, and relies on getting to know how all these characters relate to one another... But once you have encountered a few of them for the first time, you already know what's going on in the larger narrative of Petria...

There's no real character development, plot twists, or anything interesting happening here... A few NPCs explain their motivations to do something, but none of it really concurs with the main premise in a significant way. So it makes for a lot of BORING dialogue as you have to click through *and listen* to various NPCs tell you what you've already heard 4 or 5 times. Forget about it...

It tries to tug on your heart for some sort of emotional flair, and for a cold dark soul like me, it does nothing. But, it is worth at least few dollars for the few hours of distraction, discovery, disassociation from reality, or whatever it does for you, and I salute the effort, because I would like to see more games that try to do what this ones does...

I'll make this short. The latest Far Cry game has nothing special about it. Game-play mechanics have remained the same, and the new aspects or weapons are not really that necessary to explore, but they are fun. Overall, the setting of Yara and its narrative feel formulaic and generic.

FC6 is big. I mean its a BIG map. A positive point for this game is the sheer volume of activity, compared to any one before it. A negative point is that it gets repetitive.

The game will last you a good while, either playing by yourself or in co-op. I keep it installed and play it every so often before getting bored with it, without still having completed the main story.

My main criticism is: There's really nothing new in FC6 in terms of content or game-play - It's just more Far Cry, as you have always known. But it's still worth the price.
