I like playing this game online and the gameplay for an rts game is amazing. However the campaign and the story is where red alert 3 ultimately blows, it doesn't even manage to scratch red alert 2 and red alert 1's delivery of a consistent story. Doesn't help that each female character is a porn actress and is trying to look serious delivering her lines, only to be reminded of that one "image" in the manual.

Some elitists claim it's not worthy of the red alert title and in circumstances of how you portray that argument I can agree. However I also propose the idea that franchises need to evolve since playing with the same formula isn't inventing anything and it will just increase the rate of burnout, even though there was a 7 years window between red alert 2 and red alert 3.

From the current releases of the indie rts games in the last 5 years, red alert 3 is a great game to sink your teeth in.

9/10

What a great combination of half life 2 narrative inside a portal-puzzle atmosphere.
The mod is sadly in russian(however according to the site they are working or planning to release an english patch, which would get me playing it again), but as a macedonian i can pick some of what's going on in the plot, which is very closely inspired by portal's story of getting vengence on the machine. The new FX and scripted events were very well thought out and implemented. Level design in any point wasn't linear and stale and predictable, other than couple of segments for Quality of Life improvements so each chamber doesn't feel too long to complete. The horror elements were also toned down but i believe this mod could work very well without them. For a free mod, i really liked it

What a wonderful mod

I really did not encounter any noticable immersion-breaking issues, a very solid and paced mod.
The voice acting is servicable, the difficulty curve is very friendly to players on the hl2 mods, the level design is great and interesting for replay value, it's like if valve made the mod :)

Hopefully it will deliver great on the upcoming chapters.

How to make Salty Steam Players(Microsoft Edition):

Find an abandoned game
Put the abandoned game on Steam
Charge money for it like being a new game.
Stop supporting the game at some point.
Title a Paid Mod, "expansion".
Take the existing units and paint them yellow
Take the Beta units and put them in it.
Use the Corporate Keyphrase: New and Unique
Delay the expansion on release day
Release an unplayable and unpolished product.
Put a Window to tell everyone that they should get the "paid mod".
Prevent them from playing the core game with a RNG variable of the window appearing.
Wait for constructive threads.
Put a patch and break other things in the process.

Congratulations, you have unleashed the wrath of the saltiest of Gods, Poseidon.
10/10 Would Prostagma in Nostalgia Tears.

Valve should learn from Microsoft.

Wonderful game, maximizing the use of the gels and having the vanilia portal2 maps used. Also I have to say that that difficulty curve is siginificantlly harder to get used to as you are expecting to shoot a portal not a blue gel :D
