As someone who has spent over half of their life with this series (and thousands of hours logged on it), this game is a beautiful, innovative, addicting, and well-thought out unfinished clutter. If you get the game now and have an open mind and will not have your experience ruined by a very disappointing UI and lack of some baseline quality of life features, you will probably love it. The game is not in a finished state as of now, but it's still incredibly fun, and I fully expect this game to be well on par if not better than Civ 5 and Civ 6 (two of my favorite games of all time) given some more love from the devs.
