So I have been playing both betas and the pre-release, and I love the game so far! I have never played Payday 2, so I went into this fresh, and it's been a bit of a learning curve, but very rewarding. The stealth mechanics are amazing, the gun play is great, and playing it with friends has been a blast.

There were some problems like match making during the pre-release, but to me it seems like it was fixed with the latest releases, all my lobbies have been full, so the developers have been on the ball here, and that's what I expect going forward.

While I have nothing to compare it to, the heists are challenging for me at least, with a lot of moving parts to get right and lots of opportunities to fail spectacularly, but that just throws you into intense gunfights, so failing can be as fun as succeeding.

It could use more quality of life features, like chat in lobby and better ways to socialize with the randoms you get in matchmaking. It is a little hard to keep a party if you are happy with it, so I hope they improve on that going forward.

All in all, really excited to play more and stealth my way through all the heists, which I have not managed so far.

After a couple of false starts a few years ago, I gave X4 another chance this year, determined to make it past the notorious learning curve and UI difficulty to see what was beneath. I was simply blown away by what I found, this was exactly the game I have been looking for. It feels like a blend of single player Eve online (economy / crafting / sandbox), Elite dangerous (flight mechanics), Mount and blade (fleet management and jank), plus a 4x aspect of strategic management of an empire. All I want now is MORE of it!

If you gave this game a shot before and was turned off by bugs / learning curve, I urge you to give it another try, if this is the type of game you are looking for.

Unable to play currently due to the networking server being overloaded, the game is too good for its own good right now. This is the case for pretty much all MMO launches, alpha or not. I am eagerly awaiting the reopening of the server. We have waited years for a decent MMO, I can wait a few days more.

Had a blast when I played in the starter zone, the game is really fresh, innovative, the most fun I have had in an MMO for years. It is absolutely worth trying out, just hold your horses until they can get the login server sorted.

Having a blast with this! I was looking for exactly this kind of game, where you basically wander around, fight stuff, get stronger gradually in a pretty casual game. For the low price, you get a pretty good experience, the game runs smoothly, and is elegant in its simplicity. The community in chat and discord is also great, doing this sort of roguelike dungeon crawl in an mmo setting is very neat.

This is the game I have always wanted. I admit I was quite discouraged the first few hours, as I encountered a lot of crashes, and the steep learning curve. I powered through it, watched a Youtube video, restarted the game after it crashed (it auto-saves it seems, luckily) and now I am addicted.

I've been playing on a community server that started up today, and played all day straight. Met some cool people, herded these porkers into something resembling a civilization, got completely overrun by barbarians and lost everything, and had a blast.

This game is deep, you can easily tell, and a great labor of love. I have secretly been lurking in the discord channel, waiting for the steam release because I was always late to the beta keys, but now it's here and it is brilliant. If you want a game like
Anno, AoE or Banished, but deeper, this is the game to follow.

Now, should you buy it right now? I'd say yes if this is the game you have been waiting for, for a long time, like me, and can survive a few crashes. If not, you should consider waiting until more client crashes are fixed, because it is a bit of a pain. Hopefully those are prioritized going forwards.

That being said, I had fewer crashes in the MP game than in single player, and being disconnected from a MP game is fine, you can easily rejoin! That is a fantastic feature in itself.

Looking forwards to playing this more!

Probably the best game I have played in years. The gem I have been searching for for a long time, It is a beautiful blend of management, tactical squad action RTS and brutal survival. Runs well and I have yet to encounter any significant bugs. A must have.
