hello girl is a "pattern story," a short story that revolves around a simple pattern, like chekhov's "the darling" or tolstoy's "master and man." unlike the works of chekhov and tolstoy, however, who were both cowards, hello girl dares to ask the real questions, such as: what if your peaceful routine was interrupted by the sudden arrival of the world's most beautiful butch lesbian?

hello girl is a very human work. it was originally made for a game jam, under quite strict time restraints, and as a result it can feel a little unrefined in places. i think this mostly works in its favour, though. it's a simple, sweet story with beautiful music and some of the most charming uses of the unique visual elements of the visual novel form i've ever seen. if you've ever felt like a rabbit with a telephone, or you just love the atmosphere of the countryside in its weird, cold, transitory seasons, i wholeheartedly recommend it

i think rain world is a medium defining masterpiece. if you have ever enjoyed a videogame in your life, you owe it to yourself to play rain world.

I don't even like this game.
