If you liked this game in the 90s and just want to play it again, or just want to buy it because you pirated it and you want to pay your moral debt, just do it, you will not regret it.
For the ones who never played this game, my advice is to stay away.
I think that this game wanted to be FFVII on steroids, sadly we got an unfriendly emo protagonist and a generic cast of characters (the only character that I liked was Laguna, and it appears very few times).
I didn't like the story either, but something that I learned with FFX is that I can love a game with stupid story if the characters and the setting are compelling, but it's not the case in this game.
