NIGHT-RUNNERS is a very fun racing game with tons of potential.
The gameplay is reasonable; it is down to earth while still being arcade-like enough to feel like you're pulling some crazy stuff.
The vibe from this game is immaculate; no Need For Speed or Midnight Club can even compare to the unified 90's style this game gives off. I love everything about it.
The car customization is EXTREMELY through for a prologue; you can customize the crankshaft, spark plugs, give your car scissor doors, there's even a fully fledged livery editor (or so I heard, I haven't used it). Everything slides in like puzzle pieces. For a free demo, this has a ton, and is absolutely worth checking out if you like NFS-like games.
However, this game has some problems in its gameplay..
The collision is the worst part of this game, by far. Trucks are littered everywhere. Okay, thats fine. But why do I lose all my speed and ricochet off a highway when I sideswipe one?
The game has zero driving aids; your car will not slow down enough before you accidentally wall ride. And if you hit a wall too fast, your car will either go on its side and stay there until the game respawns you, or you will literally fly out of bounds and immediately respawn.
Regular collisions are brutal, too; it takes ages for your car to get back up to speed, and you lose ALL of your speed upon touching any vehicle's rear, besides your rival's. At least your rival slows down for you after a wipeout.
Overall, vehicle collision is awful. It's very impeding on the experience; I scraped a barrier once and my car hopped and did a 360 degree spin! On the last race of a challenge I was doing against a boss!
But, yeah. I recommend this game, 100%. Just fix the damn trucks.

Team Fortress 2 is a one of a kind game. It manages to be a just perfect game, not too complicated, but not too simple either. It is easy to learn but hard to master, with a skill ceiling to where the casual players can have fun even though they're fighting competitive players. There are a variety of play styles that you can use, from the combat Engineer providing support for his brethren where it matters most, to to the demoknight, charging at his enemies. The game has enough content to keep you happy for a long time, with even more dedication and love coming from the community every day, much more than your typical modern release.
