For a top-down "RPG" shooter, this is too dull, even for 2007. It's very repetitive and with no real essence. Just as a reminder, 2007 was the release year of Half-Life 2: Episode 2, to put it in perspective.

The first level will feel like isometric Doom, but don't be tricked, the rest of the game is the same, just bigger mobs, bigger health pools, not fun. Most of the game will be you standing around a corner (or going around it), mow whatever mob you can see, walk to the next corner, repeat. There's no strategy except "press A-D-A-D so the shooting guys don't get you, change to a better gun for the bigger guys."

Another thing is the A.I., which is too dumb. As the view is isometric you can view your enemies in the other room, but instead of seeing them bolt to the door that will get them closer to attack you, they will stick to the wall which makes them be closest to you, and "try" to attack you.

Story is non-existent, don't expect one. Well, except it's about you turning on generators/computers, go to the next room, destroying capsules, go to the next room, shooting mobs, to get to the last main zombie bad guy, all without saying a single word. More characters and/or boxes with dialogue would be a nice addition.

Also it's very short, you can beat it in approximately 3 hours. The gametime I have is me having played through the campaign once, in one evening. It has two other modes (you alone vs. non-stopping waves of enemies, and you as a gun you can use in a level of the campaign vs. non-stopping waves of stronger enemies), but both get old very quickly.

One thing that I will commend the dev team is that it really looks they put their heart and soul into it. The graphics and animations are old but I like 'em, I'd play the hell out of a better game or mod with these graphics and a better story; the guns feel good, although more strategy would be appreciated, because this is just "stand and shoot, occasionally press A-D-A-D so the bad guys with guns don't get you, change to a better gun for the bigger guys"; and that's about it of the good things of the game. I really wanted to like this game, as the first few minutes got my interest. But that dwindled while the amount of enemies grew.

Final score from 1 to 10 would be a 3, not recommended to most. But I'm sure one or two of you top-down/isometric junkies will like it.

Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit is an action platformer metroidvania chock full of references to other videogames. It doesn't heavily rely on its very flimsy plot to keep you entertained (because it doesn't need to, plot's unnecessary when you have fun mechanics), it does that with its consistent gameplay.

Not that hard, not that easy, but simply fun. Easy to get 100% achievements, fun for 2-3 afternoons worth of time.
