It leaves me wanting some extended and/or hard mode variants of a lot of the mechanics, as someone who did pretty much every Portal 2 custom map with my partner for this one a year after its release.
But besides that, hot dang, this is just a very good video game.

Very neat game. Bouncy cable tool takes a bit of time to get used to, and I wouldn't call it a grapple hook per se, but is super cool for enabling unique platforming, movement, and sequence breaking. Decently difficult, cool art.

Beginning is pretty slow, especially the ship parts, it could do better there, especially for Ys veterans. Environmental variety is also very low, the vast majority of areas are either grassy island, or rocky island. It's understandable enough with the setting of the game, but especially since there's an icy area and also a Volcano, and we don't get to explore those save for one really small "hot spring" island, it's a shame.

Still really fun though. I felt really attached to the characters and crew, the new party system I wouldn't say is "better" than the previous games but it was a nice little pivot, and everything else was at least meeting expectations

Great game, would have loved a sequel to really refine the mechanics

Ocotpath 1 was a treat. Super solid foundation, respectable execution on all fronts at worst.
Ocotpath 2 takes the same formula and just does every single part except the music way better. (I'd put the music maybe slightly worse than OT1, but that's not a fair bar to expect to surpass. Both games are phenomenal there.)

This game sets a new expectation for turn based RPGs going forward.

Very frequent stutters and pop in issues, even in the tutorial area with nothing going on. This is reportedly due to the game only using a single CPU core, and/or failing to utilize much of an available GPU.

I want more Monster Hunter content, but I have more stuff to do in World or Rise until this is in a reasonable state. Nobody should be settling for such a showing, that clearly has no respect for its audience, with how many other titles are available to play instead.

10/10 Music
Game is punishing yet fair, it pushes you to improve and master the systems, and it will feel great when you finally do it.

I have quite an above average computer, but unless I get really lucky, the game regularly crashes every 15-30 minutes, regardless of what 'fixes' I try.
Also, even on high graphical settings, water textures look 10 or more years outdated, and there's a worrying amount of texture and object pop in as you drive or fly around, even at wing suit speeds.
Challenges don't require load screens anymore, but are usually extremely simple. Unless they show up later, the more difficult sort of challenges you could find in JC3 are absent.

Grapple hook mods are cool, gun play is fine, exploring and destroying stuff is still fun. But there's a lot wrong with this title, and not all of it can just be patched out (not that the studio has a good track record with that).
