If you didn't want these things as a kid, go play something else. This game is fun as hell and the single player campaign is extremely satisfying if you grew up as a Ghostbusters fan or if you've watched the movies and wanted a third made. Buy on Steam Sales if you don't have the dosh for full price, it's worth every penny.

Spent about 6 hours last night mining large rocks, chopping trees down (and cutting into logs), cutting grass, and flattening the ground down as prep work to build a huge fortress. My 3 year old watched the whole time and enjoyed every minute of it, in fact she had me put up a poster with her face on it (awesome custom feature) in my first little shack. I still have about 3 hours to go before I lay the first stone (more flattening & grass cutting) but I am already loving the game's comfiness. The graphics add to this (sun rays!) and the music at the beginning set a great tone to that as well. Minecraft is an obvious inspiration, but things like customization of certain blocks within the game (as opposed to external mods in Minecraft) and the manipulation of the environment make this game stand out.

Warning: Java makes it a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to get going and you will have issues, but the devs are very prompt and active on Steam forums to assist. It also has console commands to help you with the few potential bugs, such as a flymode since you can fall through the floor (for reference, it happened to me only one time in 6.5 hours of play).

IMO, 10/10 game. Reminiscent of the N64 Legend of Zelda games, with a bit more RPG elements and of course, multiplayer.

There seems to be three types of people when it comes to this game:

1.) You play for an hour at best, can't beat the first boss or figure out where to go, and you venomously "hate" on the game because you are too casual or refuse to "git gud." This people are fairly obvious to spot. Admittedly, you can dislike a game, no sweat off my back but I'm talking the ones who are a real ♥♥♥♥♥ about it.

2.) You play through the whole game once, and either like/dislike it for what it is; but after this, you do not play again and miss out on New Game+, AKA the real challenge. IMHO, the first playthrough is the tutorial. Totally fine and worth your money.

3.) You play the game religiously almost daily, starting so many new characters all using different builds; some for helping friends through areas, bro-op'ing bosses, creating your own challenges (SL 1 runs, *hint*Lightning Reinforced Club +5*hint*), or just some PVP'ing. This is my category, as I have 200+ hours logged on the PS3 before even picking the PC version up.

The neat thing about this game is that no matter what category you fall into above, its worth you purchasing. Even those who buy and hate it, I personally feel it was worth you doing so just to know. And if you do feel buyer's remorse, remember you could've spent your time & money playing Aliens: Colonial Marines.
