Memorizing Rap God's lyrics saved my life.

This incident is burned in my memory. It was horrific. Sometimes, it even comes back to me in the form of a nightmare.

It was night time. I was alone in a train compartment, but I didn't care, I had my book to keep me company. I didn't really notice which station just passed by but I knew that the train did stop somewhere. After I completed my chapter, I looked up, and I found a man sitting right in front of me. He looked like he was in his late 40s, and hadn't had a shower in weeks. He was staring at me as if I killed his whole family. I was scared but I had my manners alright. I politely greeted him. But he didn't utter a word; he just continued looking at me.

After a few minutes, (which felt like eternity) he abruptly started talking, but it was definitely not what anyone would expect, he started a ranting on about population, and how we're our own doom; we won't be able to feed anyone in the future because of the population. Now, I saw the point in it. I knew he was right, but I did something which no one should do in such a situation. I started arguing with him. I have this bad habit of never agreeing with someone, even if that someone is an old, scary looking guy, with whom I'm alone in a train compartment.

He looked offended after my stupid argument of how humans are important. There was some awkward silence at this point. He then calmly said, "humans are important, huh"? He continued, "how important are you?" This sent shivers down my spine. Honestly, I wouldn't have taken him seriously if he didn't have the murderer look in his eyes. I though of all the things which can prove, that I'm essential to the human race, but as I expected, I had none. I opened my mouth to inform him that, but totally different words escaped my mouth. I found myself singing Rap God as fast as I could. I remember learning the lyrics 2-3 years ago, but I had no idea that I still remembered any of them, and how it came in my mind at that point of time.

Honestly, looked like he was amazed at the speed I was rapping. After a minute or so, I stopped, although I didn't want to. I expected him to say something like, "Are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kidding me?" but he just said calmly, "you're good". After that he just stood up, and walked out of the train. At that point, I realized we were at Vikhroli station. I could've stressed out on what just happened, but the book seemed much more important, so I just continued reading.
