Huge learning curve. Your enemy has free access to all of the infrastructure (Repairs, rearm, refuel) you would otherwise have to fight to use for a relatively small amount of time before the locals report you to the patrols of heavy ships, aircraft carriers, and rocket carriers searching for you. Play through the prologue, otherwise you'll be clueless when bombarded with the radio, knobs, switches, buttons, dials, navigational tools, and alerts. All of which are essential for going undetected and calculating not only enemy movements but your own. The current top review doesn't account for the fact that you're heavily outnumbered, a single fleet among hundreds hunting for you. If your entire fleet of precious ships all of which are expensive and vital were controlled by AI, you would have a bad time paying for repairs as the games AI cannot dodge enemy fire as well as the player can. Every time you meet an endgame, your highest score is accumulated with start points on that save file as extra points for you to purchase more ships to be able to have a better chance of survival. Progressively through a series of failures you'll learn how to properly use the mechanics of the game to your advantage, and which ships make the perfect fleet for you to survive and complete your mission. Even late game on easier difficulties, you will still be outnumbered, so practice aiming and dodging, don't sell or use your nukes, and never turn on your radar.

Only the experienced survive war in Gerat.

P.S - I suggest if you want to create your own ships that you play the game a little to get a feel for what necessities you need for your ships based on their role. The Flagship for the most part should be left alone. The shipbuilding community in this game is pretty immense, you can find all sorts of ship designs and downloads as well as guides online.

When I played, I had fun with war of rights, and it pains me to write this as the community I played with was probably one of the most solid ones on the game, but that's the only reason to play the game. Is for the community, but even then the community is filled with drama. Most battles end with units pointing fingers at each other and trying to find an excuse as to why they aren't having fun with the gameplay pattern that they've been using for nearly 4 years.
Maybe when this game first launched it was worth picking up because it was popular and there was nothing but expectations for the future of the game, but the War of Rights Developers recent updates only seem to only be motivated by community retention in response to competition in the civil war / blackpowder video game market. Half of the mechanics that break get promises of them being fixed but they never coming through unless the community itself pushes for it. I can easily say that while War of Rights is fun, its an experience that has over the years become more and more lackluster, with updates feeling more like patches in a sinking boat rather than additions to a game.

Started off with my cousin, now I'm in a server with 7-8 organized players. There's definitely a lot of fun to be had. It could just be a pacing or building addiction but each of us having logged 200 hours in the server each and we're only about halfway through with the actual game. Lots of fun to be had with building and farming, and a big grind when playing with other people.
