NOT A HERO is another Retro style shooter that tries a bit too hard to be funny.

I purchased NOT A HERO based on the release trailer, which I did find to be entertaining and humorous. I came in with high expectations. It showed very nice looking pixel style graphics, many unique characters, and exciting mission segments.

Now, I've only played through the first series of levels, but I found myself bored and decided to take a break to write this review. The plot of NOT A HERO involves playing as different characters in order to assist Bunnylord in becoming Mayor. You will do this by assassinating certain people, destroying gang hideouts, and other forms of destroying crime by committing it.

The Levels -
As I mentioned before, I only played through the first section of levels. These first levels appeared extremely bland to me. Colors consisted of Red and Grey, and it didn't feel like I was ever changing levels after moving on. There are windows to jump through, and doors to open, but so far that is the only interaction I've discovered. I understand that there are secret areas, but I've yet to find any.

I was surprised by the bland levels because the diner and office area are very detailed and attractive. I stopped playing when I got to the "Green Levels," which I will call them. They looked almost exactly the same as the "Red Levels." Aside from a few different assets use for cover, which appeared to just be recolored.

I will try to continue playing to see if the levels become more interesting, but so far, they are just boring.

The Characters -
I don't have a whole lot to say about the characters since I've only unlocked four of them.

You've got the starter pistol guy, the woman that can run and shoot/reload, the country shotgun guy, and a.. colorful Jesus. I find these characters so far to be generic and uninspired. Just another attempt at humor that lacks creativity. They are varied skill-wise, and it's sometimes helpful to try a different one if you are struggling to complete all the bonus objectives in a level. I may add more to this after unlocking a few more.

The main character in this game is Bunnylord. As I spoke of before, he is doing what he can to become mayor of the city. I found myself skipping most of his dialogue because it was so.. puerile.

The humor in NOT A HERO had to have been written by a teenager. A teenager that just discovered balls and penis jokes, and cursing without getting in trouble by his parents.

Maybe that's the direction they were going for. I'm sure some people will find it funny.

The Gameplay -
It feels good with a controller. The controls are extremely basic. You could probably play this on an NES controller(not that this is a bad thing). It's fluid, smooth, and responsive, so I'll give it that. Unfortunately, the simple controls sometimes cause you to do one thing when trying to do another.

Conclusion -
I think that about covers it. Feel free to ask me any questions. I may provide some updates, or even change my opinion on recommendation, but I can't as of now.

I like Devolver Digital. Broforce was funny, colorful, and fun. NOT A HERO is childish, bland, and boring.

If you have the money, pick up Broforce instead of this one.

THIS is how you do DLC.

Postal 2: Paradise Lost is more or less a sequel to Postal 2. According to the developers, this is an apology for Postal 3.

The gameplay is simliar, with several new weapons, enemies, and characters to urinate on. The Dude is back in Paradise a few years after the nuclear explosion in the first game. Champ has run off and you begin your journey in search of him. Early on you'll encounter extremist activists, violent Chinese chefs, and rabid dogs that can join you(for a treat, of course). Speaking of animals, cats are still here, and you know exactly what to do with them.

If you played Postal 2, you will recognize many of the locations and be pleased to see how they've been altered in this post-apocalyptic world. The bank is now where PU Games are developed. You will notice right away that Running With Scissors isn't afraid to speak their minds about issues in today's industry.

I've only played a couple hours so far, but I am happy to recommend this to fans of Postal 2. Hopefully, money made through this DLC will be put towards the development of a TRUE Postal 2 sequel.

Now sign my petition.

Edit: Just wanted to add a few things after playing a bit longer.

I still recommend it, but this DLC isn't without it's flaws. I'm generally running at 60fps (which shouldn't be a problem at all), but in a later area I was getting terrible framerates. After that was over it was back to normal.

Another issue is with the sound, and I found this to be a problem in the base game as well. Even at the lowest setting for audio, both music and SFX, it's terribly loud at certain parts. Rain sounds while inside a building, and at one point there is a person playing guitar and both of these are deafening.

Hopefully these minor issues are looked into.

--If anyone has questions, feel free to ask them in the comments and I will do my best to answer--

I haven't picked up a Call of Duty game since the original Black Ops. I figured I would give this one a try, so here is my quick little review.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is nothing new, nothing special, and won't blow your mind. Though, I guess this is what we have come to expect from a Call of Duty game. It's the same formula that has been used since the 4th installment, so if that's what you like, then this may be the game for you.

[STORY]
I'd like to talk a little about the campaign, then I'll get into multiplayer. The single player lasts about 5 to 6 hours. 30 minutes of this consists of loading. The game forces you to watch the whole cutscene, while only loading the game halfway, then loading the rest after. If you decide to change your graphics settings in game, you have to rewatch the cutscene and wait for it to load again. Once you find your optimal settings, this isn't much of an issue, but still irrtating.
(Edit: There is an option in settings that allows the game to fully load during cutscenes, but apparently makes them choppy)

The story itself is bland and predictable, there aren't any memorable characters, and it feels like the game is just trying to rush you through the story so you can hurry up and get to the multiplayer. There isn't any switching between players in this one. You play as the same guy throughout the whole story. The aspect of early Call of Duty games where the story follows multiple characters is one I miss tremendously.

Once again the missions are very short, play out as turkey shoots, and anti-climactic. Don't expect any massive battles or epic sequences in this installment. Just save your money and watch a let's-play on YouTube.

But we know you aren't in it just for the single-player..

[MULTIPLAYER]
Same stuff, different maps and weapons. Oh, and boost jumping.

If you love running in circles, getting shot in the back, and smashing the "F" key repeatedly, then get this game. As I mentioned before, it's the same game. Go grab Titanfall for $10 and play the mode without mechs.

The new feature for Advanced Warfare is the Exo-suit abilities. Some are kind of neat, some are gimmicky. It does give a bit more variety to how you'd like to play, but I typically find them quite useless. There are also tons of player customization option. Does anyone actually look at that stuff in game?

Guns.. The guns are awful. The sounds of the guns are awful. All the weapons seem impractical and weak. The shotguns are neat, but that's about it. Oh, and again with the sounds. They just don't sound like there is any power to them. I feel like I'm shooting a little bb gun.

The maps are your typical Call of Duty maps, but some change slightly. Though it might as well just be another map, because the change is pointless. One of the maps is a volcano, and it makes it seem like you need to hurry and get through the blast doors or it's game over. But you just die and spawn on the other half of the map anyway. It's another gimmick. That's what Call of Duty is good at. Gimmicks.

I can't recommend Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, at least not for the price they are asking. There are plenty of other games to play, so please save your money. If I missed anything, or if you have questions, please feel free to ask me.

The first thing I would like to make clear about Banished is that it is a game that actually works. Typically, indie games take the early access route and snatch up everyone's money before the product is even close to being finished. Banished is a fully released and completed game.

Banished is a city-building, survival game in which you try to keep everyone in your village alive. This game starts out very relaxing, but eventually becomes frantic and frustrating as you attempt to adjust who does what and how to manage your food stocks. After 70 minutes of playing, the little crosses started popping up one after the other, and I basically said screw it.

I will definitely be playing this game and trying to figure out the best way to go about creating a thriving village. There is no combat other that your battle against the elements. At the moment, this seems to be the only real challenge to the game.

If you want more of my opinion, feel free to message me, or just watch some youtube videos. I'd say it's worth the $20, but it is steam and you can always wait until a deal in a couple months.

I might recommend this game later on down the road. It can be fun, but if you enjoy getting raped in the ass repeatedly, then this is your game.

Rust is like other games of the survival genre, but you can build structures, craft weapons, and kill your neighbor while he's sleeping. Don't expect to play this game alone or with a group of 2 or 3. Most servers have a dominate "clan" who enjoy making your time miserable.

If you decide to buy this game for the $20's that it is, then expect to get your money's worth in time played. But, also expect to lose all of the time in a matter of seconds when the guys accross the valley get butthurt over you killing one of there guys. There is hardly an indication of who is who, or a clan tag type deal. Then these guys will proceed to ransacking your place as you beg them to stop because your 10+ hours of work is now in the hands of others. So as a small group, just think of yourself as slave workers for the big clans.

Amazing game.. and has so much potential, especially with the successful kickstarter for their "Adventure Mode."

Guns Of Icarus Online has allowed me to experience some of the most intense moments in multiplayer gaming. Either as the Captain of the ship, barking orders and struggling to out-manuever enemy ships, or as a gunner running from gun position to gun position trying to destroy every part of the enemies vessel. There is a third class, the engineer, who must traverse the ship and frantically repair all pieces that keep you and your crew in the air and alive.

At the moment, the game only allows for four players on a ship at once, and you must strategically choose who plays what role. There are also many different buffs for each class that help improve speed or the power if the guns. These buffs are not without their downsides though.

I think I've said enough. At the moment, Guns of Icarus Online is $3.74. Pick it up, get the 4 pack if you can, share it with your friends, and enjoy!

Please do not buy this at the moment. Riddled with bugs and performance issues. Along with that, the character models look like they are from the original Red Faction and the voice acting is terrible. I will no longer be purchasing games prior to or on launch day. They might be able to save this game in the future, but right now it is a total mess.

Lots of fun! A lot like Terraria, but with more of a PvP aspect. I've mostly played Capture the Flag so far, and it definitely takes a bit of teamwork and strategy. You can play as 3 different classes and quickly switch between them throughout the match. Builders build, Archers shoot arrows, and Knights slash away at the enemy. It is very simple, yet takes some getting used to. I highly recommend it, especially at the discounted price. Wouldn't be a bad idea to take advantage of the package so you can play with your friends.

If you haven't picked this game up yet.. then you are wrong. "Hotline Miami" is violent, brutal, difficult, and a lot of fun. Don't be turned off by the retro look, it compliments the gameplay and setting very well. Expect to pull some hair off your head a few times and maybe go to your neighbors house to bash his skull in with a baseball bat. With the completion of each level, you will feel satisfied, and be begging for more. $2.49. Buy it.
